I am a grief counselor. For so many clinets taking their dog to the park on an early morning, allows them time to
feel and think freely and process their grief. This is a needed, important part of NYC life!

New York City is a BLUE state- let's keep it that way. Almost every children's book has animals; don't let hardened adults ruin the pure joy of those of us who socialize our dogs.
I use the off leash hours EVERY day, twice per day. Please know most of us are very responsible owners and we watch out for each other, please don't take away this privelage.
Not only should dogs be allowed off leash the rule is too restrictive as it is. There is no reason why dogs should be allowed off leash all day. Every other park in this country allows it - Los Angeles, Virginia, DC. I have taken my dog everywhere off leash. It is ridiculous that this is even a question. Women alone cannot go to the park after 9pm, it should start after 6pm and should be extended in winter to make up for loss of daylight. To take this away would be a tragedy.
Every dog deserves the right to time to run free as nature intended. They create a community of people united by a common interest, humanize the city and help keep the park safe. Just respond to genuine complaints about irresponsible people and their pets to help keep everyone safe.

Off leash hours have worked for MANY years, the Health Dept and a NYC judge agreed that they are just, it's time for the Parks Dept to make it all officially official!
I continue to hope that I, as a citizen of New York, as a tax payer and responsible dog owner will be able to continue to experience the joy and freedom of walking my dogs off-leash in Central Park. Many, many people feel this is a battle worth fighting to the end - we need this simple act of freedom in our lives and in the lives of our dogs - we will all make better neighbors with proper exercise and fresh air! Thank you for your time and committment to this wonderful endeavor.
THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POLICY THAT SHOULD BE SUPPORTED 100% for the CULTURAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL SPIRITUAL WELL BEING OF DOGs and THEIR OWNERS/CARETAKERS!
Downtown, many of the citys dogruns are very dirty, overused and transmitts Guardia, the dogs get diarrhea which ends up at the side walk.
I beleive that the "Off Leash" policy prevents this around Central Park and other parks.
This is a quality of life issue for New Yorkers young and old. Dogs and their owners contribute to our city and should be encouraged to continue gracing our beautiful parks.
