A well exercised and socialized dog is a healthy well adjusted pet. By keeping off leash hours we can maintain our dogs health and social skills to keep NYC dogs happy. Further our parks are definitely safer with the prescence of dogs and their owners.
As l said before, you can't take everything away, compromise is needed. Have rules, we abide, dogs need off leash time, they are amazing creatures and best friends to so many, Don't make is impossible to have a pet. Thank You
Off leash is vital to our
entire community whereby people and canines can meet, socialize and enjoy the most important asset of our city lives plus it keeps our parks safer.
Please help the residents of NYC who are responsible and love their companion animals to provide a safe, happy time and place for those animals in NYC parks. It's a small amount of time that we're asking for but it means a great deal! Thank you!
Exercise for our gods provides a necessary benefit to them and to the resultant benefits to all associated with them. The park is intended for all. And allocating a small amount of time - (off hours!) is an obvious and logical resolution to this issue. The very small minority that have an issue with dogs being exercised in those off hours have a choice - they've got the most significant, and prime time slots, to enjoy the parks when dogs must be leashed. Any other resolution would be an absolute travesty.
Off leash hours make for happy, healthy and well behaved dogs. I support any effort that will ensure that our dogs can continue to enjoy this off-leash rule.
We license our pets; we vaccinate them; we comply with NYC regulations; these pets are our family. We the responsible dog owners live in this wonderful city, contribute to its flavor, culture and economic well-being. We are citizens and part of the fabric of this city. So too are our beloved pets. I am in full support of clarifying and solidifying off-leash hours for dogs in NYC Parks.
Thank you, Dept. of Parks & Recreation, for your support of off-leash time for people and their dogs. Not all dogs or people fare well in dog runs, and the extra exercize afforded them by off-leash activity is a healthful and responsible policy.
the benefits of social interaction for the owners as well as the dogs is far reaching. the dogs can be themselves and which makes them a well rounded animal and more socially interactive, less problems. you have a beautiful program, please keep it in place.
Steve
My dog and I appreciate all that the Parks Department has done for us so far in this process and thank them for continuing to ensure off leash privileges in New York City.
