17 Dec 2006 - 9:14    Matthew Parker : Now that both the NYS Supreme Court and the NYC Health Board have spoken strongly and unequivocally in favor of off-leash recreation, we need clear and fair written rules that will govern the successful 20-year off-leash hour policy going forward.

28 Dec 2006 - 20:34    Jean Mizutani : I support off- leash hours because they benefit NYC residents in both direct and indirect ways. It has been a good public policy but it will be even better and safer once clear rules are written.
28 Dec 2006 - 23:41    Elke Borgstadt MD : Dogs are feeling creatures. By nature, they must be entitled to sufficient exercise. On leash walking does not satisfy exercise requirements for most dogs. Thank you

29 Dec 2006 - 9:26    Patricia Enriquez :

29 Dec 2006 - 11:13    blair : dogs need to have physical freedom, why not outlaw dogs as pets in nys then?
29 Dec 2006 - 22:46    Theo Newman : I was in Riverside Park at about 9:30pm one night when a young scared guy ran up to me. He said he was almost mugged and that when he saw me with my dogs he immediately sought us out for protection. We all walked out of the park together. I wouldn't have been there in the first place if my dogs couldn't be off leash.
29 Dec 2006 - 23:06    Len Siegfried : off leash dogs make NYC parks safer!!!!!

31 Dec 2006 - 7:37    Katherine Roberts : Dogs need to be able to run off leash to get enough exercise. Exercise helps them become well- adjusted animals.
2 Jan 2007 - 21:18    Deborah Orr : For safety reasons, I supported offleash hours before I owned a dog, now with a dog we both get more exercise during offleash hours in the park.

4 Jan 2007 - 21:32    Jean Meinecke : I have socialized and exercised my dog off leash for the past 7 years which has resulted in one happy, well behaved companion. It goes to show you that these off leash hours do benefit the dogs and I enjoy meeting my friends each day as well.
4 Jan 2007 - 21:49    Traci Allen :
4 Jan 2007 - 23:40    Nina Long : Not all dog owners live near a good dog run, and some dogs don't do well in dog runs. That is why this bill is so important. We must have secure off leash hours in city parks so that thousands of NY dogs get to be dogs! A simple walk around the block will suffice for some dogs, but many more need exercise that only off leash time can bring.
5 Jan 2007 - 2:02    MARY LASHINSKY : This is a great opportunity for the dogs to socialise and become better in their behavior towards animals and people. I go to the park everyday with my beagle(Madison) and she is sweet and friendly with other dogs, adults and especially children. This is because I have socialised her in this kind of environment. Also I have shown children and adults how to behave around dogs. I have learned a lot myself from Madison and people in the park. The park is a beautiful and fun place to be. The main important thing also, is that the dog owners should make sure that they are always in control of their dogs at all times.
