Goal Progress:
AMPR is a newly developed research team located in the second largest Online Gaming state of Michigan currently looking for approx. 2.5 Million Dollars in donations from corporate sponcers enabling us to launch the largest online Controlled Substance Replacment Therapy (CSRT) center. This CSRT center will be comprised of a 2 story 7,000sqft building with a dynamic off-grid solar panel system to power 40 high end gaming PC's on a LAN for the second story, and a coffee shop on the first floor. The coffee shop will provide the revinues needed to maintaining the CSRT program while for the first time in gaming history we plan on providing free use of the LAN center open to the public. Estimated cost of creating the center is estimated at 1.5 Million dollars.
The remaining 1 Million will be used to launch the first wave of research as we will be searching for acceptable canidates who meet the requirements needed to completing the CSRT program. The applicant must have been court ordered to complete an NA (Narcotic Anonamous) term. The applicant must not have any other past convictions other than possession charge. The applicant must be willing to quit using. The applicant must show intrest in Online Competition. Exceptions: If you or someone you know already on a team in this vast community who may need help, he/she may be interviewed, drug screened for varification, and or a past possession charge.
Upon being accepted into the CSRT program, the applicant will recieve a computer designed for Online Gaming that can sustain a 333 FPS in some of the most graphic hungery games. The applicant signs an agreement that the Gaming System is property of AMPR until successfully passing the CSRT program. This individual will be asked to take a drug screen one hour after notification, and failure to do so may result in unbinding the contract. If the individual passes the random drug screen 12 times in one year he/she will have full ownership of the gaming PC.
Why will this work? Peer pressure is one of the drug user's worst enemy. Something has to make sense to the peers causing the pressure in order to counteract their motives. The individual in the CSRT program only has to tell their peers that they are going to stay home and play video games as it becomes a valid reason detouring poor influencial peers from pressuring. In simple terms: It's an easy way out from peer pressure.
One of the challenges of getting over any addiction is the compulsive or sudden urges that tend to overcome a recovering addict's emotions. These urges often make them want to give up. It takes more of an effort to give up since it would require a bundle of actions in order to get their "fix" opposed to turning on their computer and instantly be connected to others overcoming similar addictions.
When two or more are gathered together for the same purpose, the purpose gets stronger. We plan on having an 8pm meeting nightly that each individual in the CSRT must attend at least 4 nights out of the week online. Utilizing a popular VOip program, the first 10 minutes of the meeting will be used to discuss facts about drug use. The rest of the time spent will be used for organised online play. If an individual joins another squad outside of the CSRT program they are free to play with them.
Each individual active in the CSRT program will need to invole two people we will call Support Lines. Support lines can be parents, brothers, sisters, or just two very honorable friends they grew up with. Support Lines will be informed on what Online Competition (ladders/leagues) means, whats all involved. Support Lines will understand that competing online is a challenge and can be very much compaired to any sport that is on cable networks. They will be encouraged to watch the individual play in scrims/matches to grapple the concepts the main stream media does not allow the general public to know in the Online Competition arena.
In addition to the CSRT program we also would like to help out some disadvantaged teenagers who have un-naturally become disabled via drunk drivers who may want to help out in our quest as support for those who are having a hard time in the CSRT. We would like to offer a one Gaming PC to a disadvantaged teen for every 9 who are in the CSRT program. This may only make sense to those who are already in the community as to how this would almost be like therapy for the disadvantaged teen during later recovery process.
This research will effect everyone in the Online Gaming community as a positive channel into the main stream media dividing the difference between the act of picking up simple control pad demonstrating obsolete goals against a little box next to a TV and the real deal of total interaction, stratagy, skills, positioning, communication, and top level teamwork that it takes to win a match in various ladders and leagues offered amongst a vast community.
In this research we plan on interviewing hundreds of gamers who are already in the community with both feet to get their take on what it means to be an Online Competitor. This positive media is needed and will reflect everyone who understands what "they" don't.
In signing of this petition, you are asking various intrest groups and non-intrest groups for the funds needed to launch the start of this program and have faith in AMPR to carry out the plan discribed above.
