Signing online petitions against signing online petitions is unproductive, and not nearly as funny as signing online petitions against online petitions which are against online petitions. It's an example of "slacktivism," defined as an empty and pointless gesture intended to allow one to feel that he/she has in some way participated in effecting societal change without having to actually go to any expense or effort. Any time somebody asks you to sign an online petition telling you not to sign an online petition, sit down for a moment and try to think of some other action you could take that would actually address the problem and would actually make some material difference. Like signing an online petition.
