AOl has destroyed my life, the parental controls are so damn persistant and disruptive . It is probally one of the most disruptive, price gouging service thay i have ever seen print itsself across the usa since microsoft. The userface is slow and all of their so called "features " just make everything slower and more crappy. Instead of showing web pages as they are most of the time it just "compresses the graphics " into an extremely disoreinting page that is almost inchonrehensible. The worst customer support ever possible. There is supposed to be a live support spot that took me an hour to find out that I could not get to it. They wont help anyone unless you are the master account holder, which makes no sense because ever screen name does not have to be on the same computer which means they could be at different locations with different users. I signed up to broadband, they signed me up to 12 months of my machine slowly right down everytime i use the net, 'no choice' advertising with junk mail to boot!
As for their bulky and pointless 'optional' browser! I have spent a small fortune on the phone to those assholes, trying to get rid of eat, it slows my machine down and I don't even use it, if I close it the connection dies after 10 minutes. They make out they don't know of any technical fault, telling me its optional, walking me thru pointless clicking around,I totally hate them. I feel totally conned.

I tried to sign up with aol while having computer problems. While signing up the program froze after they already had my card #. Never got on line, but 3 weeks later they withdrew $25.90 from my account. I called them and had to cancel my account and they said it could take up to 2 bussiness cycles to gwt my refund. In other words they are illegally holding my money in there account for 2 months so they can draw interest. I can't put into words how much I hate AOL!

I run a small business and I send legitimate email to AOL users as well as others. I've been blacklisted so none of my emails get through to my customers, plus I don't get told if the email bounced or not. I get regular emails complaining that I'm ignoring emails when I'm bending over backwards to help! AOL sucks.

I hate AOL. I was 14 and signed up for it with my dads permission, and cancled the account. Then 4 years later I get a notice of being turned into the credit company for a $26 fee.
