We the people support OHIO HB79 and ask for your support on
Bill OHIO HB79.

Dangerous and/or vicious animals should be labeled as such as a result of their actions or behaviors and not because of their breed.

There is no evidence any breed of dog is more vicious or dangerous than the others.

All dogs can be dangerous under certain circumstances. All dogs can be dangerous if in the hands of an irresponsible owner.

As with any breed there are exceptions to the normal temperament and behavior. We see this in humans as well, there are good ones and bad ones.

There is no positive way to identify a dog breed with genetics.

There are 25+ breeds of dog that are commonly mistaken for pit bulls.

All breed of dogs have animal prey drive and are able to fight with other dogs or animals.

All breeds pose a threat to humans and other animals if not properly socialized and trained.

There is no scientific proof that the pit bull can bite harder than any other breed.

There is no scientific proof that any one breed of dog is more or less dangerous than another.

Restrictions based on breed does not work, it simply punishes responsible owners.

Breed specific laws are unfair to responsible owners and do nothing to irresponsible owners who are actually creating the problems

The irresponsible owners do not care what breed of dog they lose the right to own. They will find another dog breed to fit there needs.

The pit bull is probably the most misunderstood dog in the united states. People see them and cross the street out of fear and try to ban them from there cities. Why? Simply stated, lack of education on the breeds. The public only sees negative stories in the news.

Dont punish all of us responsible owners that maintain our dogs as companions and members of our familys. We can and do maintain our dogs so they do not pose a threat to anyone, why should we be denied our companions simply because irresponsible owners of the same breed of dog have not ethically and legally protected others from injury.

We the supporters of bill HB79 are asking for your committee's support on bill HB79

I support this petition. Thousands of great pits out there but you only hear of the ones that cause harm. Please be a responsible owner. Have a pit bull day!
