I've been raised around pitbulls since I was five. We actually breed them for a little while and at no time did any of our dogs attack anyone. It is all in how you raise them. If you care for and train them properly they can be the best pets you will ever own. They are intelligent and loyal animals. They have an unfair reputation due to the media just trying to get a story.
My name is Sofia and I'm 16 years old. I think people should blame the way the owners have brought thier dogs up, not the breed of the dog. Pit Bulls have been given an extremely unfair reputation of being dangerous and unruly. This isn't fair. I had a Pit Bull who died in 1997 and she wouldn't have hurt no one and nothing. The only time she got nasty is she felt that her owners were in danger or under threat.
It is awful how dogs are treated so inhumanely. This is such barbaric behaviour. Certainly we, as supposedly 'civilized' people, should have more common sense than to inflict harm on innocent creatures.
I have 3 pitbulls, 2 females, one male. 7,week old puppies, a 4 monthe female boxer, and the 4 1/2 yr old boxer mother at my house and they all love each other to death.
I support this this petition because there is no such thing as bad dogs only bad owners. We need to step up and punish these people and make sure the punishment is severe enough to make them never do it again.
If you want to take care of the problem, BAN BAD OWNERS. Leave the dogs alone! Dogs do what they are trained. If they are unfortunate enough to get a bad owner who teaches them naughty things, it is sad. It isn't their fault. BAN THE PEOPLE!
Bullys are themselves victims. The worst people in our society are bringing them down; they are the ones who should be held accountable. Don't buy into the FEAR MONGERING!
I support this petition. Dog fighting is just training a dog to be a killer pretty much. So, it's killer training! Also, not all dogs of a breed should die just because a few of them are bad. In most cases, the owners probably made them that violent.

Why must we love to see pain & even death just to be entertained? & or to make a few bucks on a bet.(When God Flooded the earth, all the animals were saved but only 8 humans.) I support this petition very strongly. I know many friends who have owned pits and every one has been a sweety. Not once have I ever been afraid of any of them. Dogfighting is cruel and unneccessary and the people who do it should be punished severly.
I support this petition very strongly. Our family has owned several bully breeds and they are absolute sweethearts! The Public needs to be educated on bully breeds in order to stop stereotyping these gorgeous animals.

I support this petition. I'm an animal lover and dogs are like children, it depends on how the parent raises them that they will turn out. Especially dogs don't have peer pressure like children do, making them even easier to raise. They do as the father or mother says. Dogs shouldn't be punished... they only know what their taught, bad owners/parents are to blame. I'm a proud parent of a boxer and a boston terrier (Damien & santi)
