All dogs are just like people are born good. It is our training & others around us that make them turn out the way that they do. My frien has a pitbull & that dog is so nice, I wish my dog was that well behaved!!!!
If the owners of the dogs let them get out of control or train them to fight. The owners are the ones that should be put down or sent to jail. All dogs only know what you as the owner train them.
I am a Dog Behavioral Exert and I work with the BEHAVIORS of dogs. The very first dog I worked with was a Pit Bull. We own a Pit Bull. With tons of EVIDENCE, and personal experiences, I can prove that what you are doing is wrong. Let me also state that in the whole time I have been working with dogs NOT A ONE of the Pit Bulls I have worked with has ever been aggressive. Owners are the ones who I hold responsible all the time in my sessions especially when I am dealing with an aggressive dog and never the dog. I make aggressive dogs non-aggressive all the time and it is all in how the previous or current owners were handling the dog (s). If you want to get to the bottom of the real problem maybe you should FIRST talk to professionals who actually deal with different breeds including the Pit Bull, and then punish the deeds of the owners not the breed.
why do you always have to pick on the Pit Bulls. It is the owners who need to be hald responcible not the dog. People know they have powerful dogs and they train them to be fighters and attack. The dog is not born aggressive. BSL reminds me of Hitler and the innocent Jews, the Witch hunts and all the innocent woman who lost their lives, and how humans inslave the innocent. All of these ended with war. Pit Bull Owners are not going to go down with out a fight. STOP BSL because it is BULL!!!
My pit is a wonderful pet. She has exceeded my expectations and has brought much joy into my life. She makes friends easily (human and canine) and is always ready to play. She even willingly participates in getting dressed up for Halloween.
We, as humans, need to get better at realizing that the actions dogs take is all in his/her training. Even "untrained" dogs are conditioned to act a certain way due to their treatment. Crack down on the people who mistreat, abuse, and otherwise allow their dogs to be mean instead of slaughtering thousands of innocent dogs.
Please let those poor dogs live! They did nothing wrong! It's not fair to them or their owners! How would you like it if it were your dog? Save the dogs!
The prisons are filled with a majority of african americans, does this mean we should eliminate the race? Think about it, you are punishing a whole breed(s) because some ignorant people raise their dog to be vicious.
Ban the deed not the breed. It is like racial profiling in human beings. No one racial group or breed of dog is bad. Animals are living up to their owner expectations.
Ban the irresponsible owners. Make animal cruelty a felony.
Ban BSL, it is ridiculous, any breed of dog has the capacity to be dangerous with the wrong owner. Pit bulls are no more dangerous than any other breed. People are responsible for their dogs behavior. Pitbulls are the most abused breed of dog and most of aggression in any dog is caused by mishandling, abuse or an irresponsible owner. This is a people problem and no breed of dog should be singled out. We need tougher punishment for irresponsible and abusive owners and to make sure they never own another dog. Banning breeds and euthanising dogs is not going to solve anything. Look to the humans who cause the problems.
dogs becom criminals when the owner is a criminal. you can see the owners carecter on the dogs behavier.animals dont know right from wrong,they just do what you teach them to do.if you teach a dog to kill the dog will kill, you teach a dog to sit, roll over , play freezbe, then that is what the dog is going to do.the breed doesn't matter it is the training and how you educate your dog! the pit bull is a mix off any bull dog with a bull terrer, thats how you get a pit bull. before the pit bull there was the bull dog, the bull mastiff, the chow chow, the bull terrier, then the doverman and the boxer. all these breeds were used in pit fights. if there are no more pit bulls, criminals will produce another fighting breed even stronger and bigger then a pit bull.I think the solution would be to pass a law on getting a licence to own a dog no matter what breed, only people that can prove to be responsible owner as well as to provide enough income for the dogs health, should be given a licence to own a dog. and every home that owns a dog should have the lic. number infront of the house to prove their right to own a dog. licence dog owners should also take a dog training course.
I have worked with animals for over 7 years now . I love pit bulls and as a whole I think they are among the sweetest breed . At the clinic I work at I am more untrusting of lets say a chow then I ever am a pitbull. Dont punish the breed , punish the humans that train these dogs to be vicious
gee.. wouldn't that be cruelty to animals. Doesn't that old man have anything better to do with his time. Like stop global warming. a problem his a part of.
This has my full support. As a proud owner of 3 fun loving pits, I don't see how ANYONE could want to put an end to this loving, caring, darling breed.
It's crazy that some people think all pit bulls are mean. THEY AREN'T! They are born such sweethearts and it is the owners who decide how they will act. Those who teach them to fight are doing this... BAN THEM!
I have a "pit" and she is the sweetest thing. I adopted her from a rescue. She is NOT human aggressive at all. Nor is she animal aggressive. DOnt hate the breed. hate the irresponsible and ignorant owners.
It disappoints me to see the consequences of a dog's behavior excused by its breed and not by the lack of ownership of responsibility on the part of the human beings involved.
I'm glad to see the public finally becoming aware of how the Pitbull has been portrayed wrong by the media. I will post this site on myspace.com
