I've been affraid of all dogs sence I got attacked as a child 20 years of terror. This past summer I had the oppertuinty to get to know a pitt bull. For the first time in my life I felt intence love. I am no longer affraid of dogs. When we get rid of all the pitts and people bring other animals into these situations will we kill all of them to? lets be serious about the problem lets take care of the real problem. Its time for humans to take blame for there mistakes and to stop blamming others.
the ignorance must stop! american pitbull terriers are sweet, kind animals. they love to play hard but never mean intentional harm. the legislatures should be trying to target the people who use these pitbulls for fighting and other horrible things. there are so many facts out there telling you that pitbulls are not dangerous. someone needs to open a book and do some research on this subject. punish the deed not the breed!!!

PITBULLS ARE LIKE ANY OTHER PET AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE BANNED JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE EVIL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO MAKE THEIR PITBULLS AMONG OTHER BREEDS AGGRESSIVE. WE SHOULD GO AFTER THE PEOPLE WHO HURT THESE DOGS AND MAKE THEM AGGRESSIVE. I KNOW MANY OF PITBULLS IN LOVING FAMILIES WHO ARE TRUSTING DOGS. THEY ARE GREAT DOGS WHEN ARE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND LOVE LIKE ANY OTHER DOG. ANY BREED WOULD REACTION IN A AGGRESSIVE MATTER IF THEY WERE TREATED BADLY AND USE TO FIGHT. WHY TAKE IT OUT ON THE BREED WHEN IT'S THE PEOPLE WHO DESTROY THEIR REPUTATION. AGAIN I KNOW MANY PITBULLS WHO ARE GREAT, AWESOME DOGS AND THATS BECAUSE THEY ARE IN LOVING HOMES WITH FAMILIES THAT CARE FOR THEM. THEY NEED A CHANCE JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER ANIMAL. YOU CAN'T DESTROY A BREED BECAUSE OF A REPUTATION.

I think that pit bulls, just as all animals should be given a chance. People need to be more educated about this situation. We need to save these angels!!!!
My American Pit Bull Terrier is the sweetest dog to everyone he meets. I would be more surprised if my dog bit a person then if my own mother did. There is no way you can read (not media) about the breed and care for a pit bull even for a short amount of time and still believe these dogs are vicious. Please don't be ignorant and let BSL pass.
Please dont let anything happen to them. The reason they act out is poor ownership not poor genetics. We need to educate people the right way and not punish these animals for being so obedient.

It is deplorable to think that those who are elected to stand up for what is right would prefer to pass legislation prohibiting the ownership of pitbulls(a naturally gentle and protective breed) when these dogs are actually victims of abuse. If these elected officials are interested in securing the votes of thier constituants (many of whom are pet owners), they should pass legislation that calls for more severe penalties against the many criminals who perpetuate the abuse of animals for profit.

Save this breed and remember that people make them that way, if there were raised as puppys to be domesticated they would love and accept us. My grandfather had a red nose bit bull and the dog was loyal and sweet. Never harmed anyone.
I AM AN VET TECH @ A ANIMAL HOSP IN NORTH JERSEY AS OF TODAY 13 ADULT PITS AND 6 3 WEEK OLD PUPPIES WERE AWARDED BACK TO THE OWNER.AFTER 2 1/2 MONTHES OF CARING FOR THESE DOGS AND LOVING EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.I HAVE SHOVED MY HAND DOWN THEIR MOUTHS TO GIVE PILLS,VACCINATED AND OTHER TREATMENTS BY MYSELF.THE POINT IS IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I DID TO THESE DOGS DIDN'T MATTER AS LONG AS THEY HAD SOME AFFECTION AND ATTENTION B/C THEY WERE KEPT IN CRATES THEIR WHOLE LIFE,ONLY GIVEN MINIMAL TO SURVIVE,HAD SCARS,1 HAD A PICE OF EAR RIPPED OFF,ETC YOU CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW THESE DOGS AND HAVE PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH RESCUES AND LOVING HOMES WITH PEOPLE THAT WOULD HAVE LOVED THEM AS MUCH AS ME.BUT THIS GUY HAD A LITTLE MONEY AND PLAYED PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL FOR THE ABA AND GOT AWARDED ALL THE PITS WE TOOK CARE OF JUST TO PUT THEM BACK IN CRATES AND GOING BACK TO PEOPLE WHO WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM GREAT LIVES B/C THEY WERE GREAT DOGS.THIS IS NOT FAIR.THERE IS SO MUCH TO THIS STORY AND UNFORTUNATELY THE SYSEM SUCKS AND IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU GET GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING.PLEASE HELP SO NOBODY EVER FEELS LIKE THEIR EXTREME WORK TO BETTER THESE ANIMALS LIVES FAILS AGAIN LIKE THIS.THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.DANIELLE
Pit Bulls are a wonderful but misunderstood breed. They are powerful dogs who need responsible owners, but how can we condemn them all for what the bad irresponsible owners do? Stop BSL!
I have 3 pitbulls. All of different ages. They are the loves of my life. They would never hurt anyone, anywhere. If you respect the breed, the breed will respect you! PITBULLS FOR LIFE!

I am an animal lover. Closed in my tight little apartment I have a precious Pitbull, a chihuahua and a cocka poo mix and my bad bad kitty Trina. And Trina is 100 times more vicious than my Pit, Trouble. I agree BAN ignorant people, Protect our Dogs.
This is not something that we need in new york. Our dogs do no harm to anyone and part of our family. would you want one of family members taken away from you i think not so let our dogs live.
