I sincerely hope that our government will take very serious action about wreckless drivers. EDUCATE PEOPLE "HOW TO DRIVE".
I do not beleive that our officials and responsible bodies have a clue of what needs to be done, and most of them are the cause of problem.
The reckless drivers, who get their driving license just paying $150 US, never attending a driving class and not even passing a driving test.
And its not about drivers really - its corruption all and everywhere that kills our own people, the young and the beautiful...
I really support this, because, when I was in Armenia I saw that de cars where riding really fast and I was afraid that I'd be hit by a car! So I know what this is all about!
I had to punch a taxi's window as it drove by me at high speeds the other day. I am afraid not that I will get killed, but that I will kill a driver if they one day want to confront me. It makes no sense that the walk signal will be green and a left turn signal will also be green. This is the most uncivilized rule in the whole world. I do not understand why it is being overlooked. It is quit simple to just change the lighting program. SO DO IT!
let us have proper laws and justice for this unfortunate event- Any civilized country would need to have laws, regulations and penalties- Let this event never repeat itself.
We can start by limiting parking on the streets and putting meters for street parkers. That'll get them off the streets and the drivers off the sidewalks... one almost drove over me the other day... on the sidewalk!
Yes, please enforce pedestrian rights. We cannot even cross the street with a green pedestrian crossing indication on, the cars just ignore it completely.
This was an upsetting event and we need to prevent such events from happening again. The diaspora are not blind to the lack of attention paid by authorities to upholding the rule of law.
Armenia does not have right of way for pedestrians crossing a street even under a green light. That is backward and laws must change. Shame on Armenia’s government!
