If the police in Armenia were law-abidingthemselves and not selective in enforcing the law,if each Armenian cared for his country andcountrymen instead of receiving bribes, wewouldn't have a life taken so soon as that ofAraz's. (Mariam Yasseri)
The laws of any nation are there to protect the people.Without them, lives are damaged and lost.Life is not cheap.Make better laws and make a better life for Armenia.
There is very little regard to human life without traffic regulations.Maybe they should educate the ordinary man who drives a vehicle, this is every society's responsibility.
Please find a legal way to punish everybody who violates the traffic low in Armenia, especially ones who has recently gotten power and money.
The traffic regulations in Armenia are worse then in 56 countries of the world. I have been in 55 countries.
Vehicles are equipped with air bags and lap/torso belts for a lot of years now. What good are they in crashes when the national attitude is only passengers with unsafe drivers would wear the belts? This is the opposite of what you find in the EU and other Western countries.
If the police in Armenia were law-abiding themselves and not selective in enforcing the law, if each Armenian cared for his country and countrymen instead of receiving bribes, we wouldn't have a life taken so soon as that of Araz's.
armenia needs to realize its not about just making their pockets bigger and step up and do something for the citizens of armenia and the rest of the worlds people that visit armenia and make it a safe place for any citizen or tourist!!
Drivers in any jurisdiction need to be held accountable for their actions. This accountability will only come about through enforcement of driving laws and regulations that will mutually protect the drivers and the pedestrians. Chaos, which is a predicament of unruliness is what controls the streets of our beloved country, Armenia.
When are the Armenian authorities are going to make-up from their COMMUNIST-ERA COMA and start to treat people in a dignified way? A young girl's life was taken away, yet the drunk driver is on the loose, after a simple slap in the hand... ABSOS... That's not the way you build a country!
The safety of pedestrians (Armenians or non-Armenian) is important and needs to be implemented without hesitation. I contend that it is the simplest regulation to implement and as such should be done.
I think a nation like Armenia, whose population is 99.9% literate, shouldn't have a hard time making and following new laws. Since my husband and I travel there three times a year and see the progress Armenia is making, I'm sure it is not going to be difficult for the citizens of Armenia to obey this new law, as well.
i think this petition is a great idea, i've visited armenia and have on several occasions almost been killed by reckless driving and lack of rights for pedestrians.
