My condolances to the melikian family and anyone grieving over this missfortunate loss.
Everything mentioned in this story about the drivers in Armenia , the system etc....is all 100% true the more time u spend there the more sorry you feel for people that have to live there. I wish them luck cause they need it in that country. My mom was there last summer and she witnessed the same thing right in front of her hotel. Other witnesses said the speeding driver never even stopped and the pedestrian was killed on the spot. The worst drivers or any form of "law breakers " as i've witnessed during my stays, are in most cases ,government officals or people associated or affiliated with them.
Armenian should make sure that 1) motorists learn very well how to drive, or otherwise they shouldn't be granted licenses, and 2) anyone who is drinking and driving should be jailed for more than 5-10 years.
To insure the utmost safety of the pedestrians of Armenians, the motorists and the passengers alike.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sirvart

My dear mourning, unknown friends, my beloved people all over the world, my beloved Armenia...
Iam here to raise my voice with you, to support you an to share your grievance. As dear Surik has mentioned, it is not only the pitiful state of the traffic, it is a lot of other things that we have to join voices and fight against. The driver himself is not to be blamed for being free, this is where it starts, the person letting him go free is to be put in chains. It is the law makers and the law executors who are unfortunately at the base of our beloved land and who are nothing but corrupt, if not all of them, then most of them. Sadly nothing we do will bring Araz back therefore, we must strive until we can put an end to the lawlessness and curroption of our beloved land. In sweet memory of Araz let us all contintue this move, turn it into our lawful demand for the love and sake of our homeland. I herewith render my heartfelt condolances to those who mourn Araz and wish them patience. Let us all join in demanding a clean hairenik so we will not mourn a whole land and nation.
With full support
Rubina
the government should recall all drivers licenses and fire most of the police. New driving licenses should be issued only after a very strict examination and tests.
Dear Ministers of internal affairs, please look into changing the laws and bylaws to make Armenia a safe and lawfull place for all of our sakes, it could be any of our family members that gets hurt next. It could be one of your family members!. Please consider a SAFER ARMENIA by your vote and influence.
I am sorry for your loss...It's just so hard to know where to begin to change things...Could the Government fire all the police and at least make a dent as Misha did to the north without a new color reigning?
This is one of the reasons why so many Armenians left Armenia "so much unfairness” Who conducts this petition is great hero for all Armenian generation. Good luck.
For the Araz family, my condolences and I believe the justice will service in the rightway this life time or the other.

The government of Armenia is not allowed to fool its people by passing laws which will NOT take affect all due to selfish individuals who want to live off the population's misery
There have been more senseless deaths because of the recless/drunk driving than during the Artsakh war. IT IS TIME for the AUTHORITIES to take SERIOUS ACTION!
People are driving recklessly in Yerevan, I do agree, but I think main problem is poor condition of road and traffic system. Armenians who are abroad are able to help the country by their donations, to develop a better transportaion facilities and stablish international driving regulations.
