I baught an xbox360 with 3 remotes, 6 games and 3 plug and play redcargers on 13 may 09, they deleivered the remotes and 2 games and i asked them where the rest was, they said if i payed now the rest would be deleivered by tommorow and i agreed and the next day they didnt arive so i rang them up and they said they had ran out of stock of xbox360\'s, 3 plug and play remote charges, and the rest of the games i ordered and said the money will be refunded into my bank account by 15th of may and on that day, only £98 was refunded and they owed me £265 but they refused to pay that amount, so i sued and then they had to pay an extra £140 but that still wasnt all the money, so i rang them up again and they hung up on me, so i called the manager and he went furious about what had happened so he payed me the rest of the money, Tip: always call the manager, hes nice but the cutomer services is crap. do not buy to much from argos as you will never get it

I ordered a cooker, dridge and tumble drier on 10/11/08 from argos. after phoning on the 17/11/08 and finding out the items would not be delivered for 5 WEEKS I decided to cancel the fridge and tumble drier but kept the order for the cooker. I was told by customer services that money would be refunded into my account within 5 days for these items. After checking my bank statement at the end of the month I noticed they had not returned my money. I telephoned them on 16/12/08 and have been told that I should have my refund within 5 days. My cooker arrived on the 17/12/08. The electrican came and said it is unconnectable. ( due to cable that should be fitted for the cooker should be 6mm but the cooker would only take 4mm and if fitted with a 4mm cable it would be extremley dangerous) Before i called argos decided to get 2nd opinon by another electrican(just in case the other was wrong) he said exactly the same thing. I called argos that evening and was offered the same cooker, but if course this would be no good because they would all have the same fittings! I have been told by them that I would not be refunded until they collect it on the 22nd, so I should get my money back by the 27th. meanwhile I have no cooker, no money to buy one with because argos have £580 of my money of which I have nothing to show for. And im now trying to scramble around 6 days before christmas to try to find somehow to get a cooker paid for and delivered before christmas. I am so upset, ive been in tears over the whole thing, the managers are no help, im so discusted with the treatment i have recieved. The only way to make a complaint is by email of which they "AIM" to relpy within48 hours, I need help now!!!!

I support this petition. They took money for sofa that they didnt have in stock, and had no intention of restocking, and am still waiting for refund after I phoned them to chase up the sofa because of the length of time i had waited for delivery. Dont know how long they would have waited to let me know if i had not have contacted them first. One of my daughters friends family had exactly the same problem. They are gaining interest on thousands of pounds of other peoples money. They let you reserve and pay for items that they are not going to restock on a regular basis.

I bought a Beko tumble dryer from Argos in March. In June it broke down. It no longer heated the clothes. an engineer came out a few days later and replaced a circuit board. The next day it still didn't work. A few more days later another engineer came out and didn't have the part to fix it. He stated that the model of dryer I have has a fault and he would have to order a part, but he didn't know how long it would take. After phoning customer services I was informed that the required part for my dryer would take five days and a few further days before it could be fitted. I was also informed that the dryer had been removed from the next Argos catalogue. If Argos knew that the problem existed, why was the product not recalled and if this was the case then it seems to me that I was sold a product that Argos knew was faulty.

I too have had a nightmare with Argos and their customer service and delivery. I went in to a store and placed an order for a bed, comfy chairs and some bedding for my new home. They told me some of the items needed to be delivered so I left my details so they could contact me and make arrangements. I left the shop minus half the bedding as the rest was not in stock. I telephoned Argos around a week later to follow up on the order, of which I had paid in full. The Chairs and remaining bedding arrived in small transit vans, which fitted down my narrow street, over a period of a couple of weeks. After many phone calls about the bed delivery, it eventually happened, 52 days after placing the order!!! The driver rang me and said he was round the corner and could not fit down the road. After spending nearly two frustrating months sleeping on the floor, I desperatly wanted it to sleep on a bed, even though it arrived in a giant articulated truck and could have been taken away so they could re-arrange delivery in a smaller van. I had advised them to deliver in a small van on many previous occasions... The driver refused to leave the truck "for security reasons" and help me carry all the heavy bed pieces over 700 yards to my house. He was cheeky enough to imply that I should not have a house and be ordering a bed if I did not have a car to transport it in. Carrying the heavy pieces of bed put my back out and I was unable to move properly for around a week. Complaints fell on deaf ears and no compensation was offered. I refuse to shop at Argos ever and I strongly suggest that you think twice before doing so.

I have had a nightmare with Argos regarding some wardrobes (or should that be WARdrobes). I won't go into the WHOLE drama here, as it is just endless! (It was as if they were trying to mess up ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING _EVERY_ step of the way). I won't bore you with the WHOLE story, but here goes for part of it: They took my address and telephone number in store, (they stated that they need the telephone number in case there's a problem!). Well ok, they couldn't find our address (fair enough, although Comet and another company found us ok). But they didn't ring. We rang them at 3pm to ask if it was going to arrive. They said it hadn't arrived at the depot yet. "OK" I said, "But will it arrive today"... "No I'm afraid not 'sir'". "Will it DEFINITELY arrive tomorrow then?" - "Yes definitely sir". So I wait in another day... still no delivery. I ring up again to enquire and am told that "The drivers don't carry mobiles"... I reply "Then why do you take down telephone numbers during the delivery process"... LONG PAUSE... "I can see where you coming from 'sir'". mmmm I waited for 4 days in total, with more and more enquiries to customer (poor) service. I then decide to cancel the order. They agree to do this and say that I will get the refund in no more than a week. Two days later there's a knock at the door... "I have some wardrobes for you here mate"... "err... sorry mate we've cancelled them" His reply "That's not my problem". My reply "Yes it is" (Close door in his face etc). After 10 days I ring up about my refund. I threaten legal action if they don't give me my money back (I've h
