FOX, you aren't doing much right in terms of all of your shows. Your only show to break the top 20 each week is House. Reorganize your company and fix things for your entire failing network. You messed Family Guy up, don't mess this one up. It all lies in your piss-poor marketing and scheduling.
If Fox can afford/justify to keep tripe on the air like Stacked, American Dad, Nanny 911, Renovate My Family, The Simple Life, So You Think You Can Dance, Trading Spouses and American Idol, it can do itself a favor and keep a brilliant show that has garnered more press & awards than the others combined (save American Idol, but not all press is good press). You guys moved Bernie Mac & Malcolm to graveyard timeslots, pre-empted Futurama to death and allowed Clay Aiken to enter the nightmares of all camp attendees across the country. Cancel The War At Home, if you must, but give me more Arrested, preferably on the same night as The Simpsons. Last resort - move it to F/X. Do not kill this beautiful child, he's barely 3.

The # of viewers may not seem so high, due to the fact that people probably gather in one location to enjoy it together!! 3 million viewers probably equal 15 or more million!! Please keep AD alive!! I looked forward to the new season for months, as did everyone else who isn't RETARDED. Take a lesson from Family Guy.. it was a huge mistake to cancel, and you'll be doing exactly the same thing here. PLEASE keep this show going; one of these days America will realize how brilliant it is! And Freddie? I mean come on.. you think that's really going to last?
Arrested Development is the only program worth watching on the entire Fox network that is not animated. The critics agree and the DVD sales testify to this, what more do you want? Viewing figures are meaningless since just because people watch a show once doesn't mean they like it. If they like it then they'll write about it, buy the DVDs and form petitions to stop it from being cancelled. Why is this situation happening again?
Wow. I just read that it really happened. How could you cancel the show midseason? They won't even let them finish out the season for the sake of a full DVD release? This is outrageous and I hope that FOX fails in every respect from this point forward. AD was the only thing worth watching this side of HBO. Wow. I guess it makes sense though, FOX will move on to providing content for the lowest brain-dead among us now. Bring on "America's Funniest Fatties" or whatever they're going to replace it with.
i think someone should start a petition to nbc to pick up AD if it does get cancelled. with their ratings as bad as they are, they might be willing to take that risk. maybe pair it with scrubs?
How retarded are the marketing people at Fox? You've got a multi-award winning sitcom starring a multitude of recognizable names, you've got a HUGE cult following that sucks up every DVD four times in a sitting, you've got CHARLIZE FUCKING THERON in the show right now, and do we see ads for it? Do we see promotion, or press junkets? Do we see ANY PROMOTION AT ALL? Nothing. Not a damn thing. Crap like Freddie gets picked up for a second season, while the best damn comedy on TV - bar none - continues to fight for its life because morons in suits don't understand how to promote the best thing they have going. You people screwed up the Family Guy only to find out it sold more DVDs than Star Wars, you killed Firefly only to see it become a major motion picture, you totally F'ed up The Tick - how many shows does Fox have to destroy before it realizes that long-running success stories like Cheers and Buffy picked up their following by being promoted DESPITE poor ratings. Work it out, you morons.
Simply a stellar show! FOX move it into a honorable time slot and watch ratings grow. Promote, promote, promte! The only other show that comes close in wit and cleverness and slapstick (or did in its first several seasons) is Malcolm In The Middle. Try putting these gems back to back.
What the **** is Fox thinking? The idiot suits at Fox did the same thing with Family Guy, which was one of the best shows they EVER had. Arrested Development is the funniest thing on Fox right now, I don't know what the **** they are thinking. SAVE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!
The only reason that this show does not have incredible ratings is FOX's unwillingness to market it effectively. I continually tell people to watch the show and most have never even heard of it. If FOX were marketing this show properly, this would not be the case. Yet, whenever I expose new people to the show, they invariably become instant fans. If FOX promoted it like they do most of their other shows, they would have the spiritual successor to Seinfeld that could very well change the model for sitcoms. A network should consider it a privilege to air a show like Arrested Development. Instead, FOX is going to give up on a show that they never deserved in the first place.
Arrsted D is the most clever, well written, witty show on television... Jim Horowitx is a genius and should be honored because of his geniua... don't cancel arrested d because there has been no other show as intelligent or as clever as arrested d on television... EVER.
Such a great show. In an era where truely funny and entertaining TV comedies are virtually non-existant, Arrested Development should be one of the gems of any networks line up. If FOX would just promote it better and give it a stable timeslot that isn't constantly pre-empted for sporting events, I'm sure it could find a bigger audience.
NBC kept "Friends" on for 10 years, and that show wasn't even funny. This is the best show ever. Yea, Like the man in the $4000 suit is gunna watch anything else. COME ON!
