In an age of 200 channels and some of the worst shows ever, this show--maybe the funniest and best written of all time--can't keep a slot?! On the Fox network?!
Fox- try advertising a little! Arrested Development is not only funny it has/had Charlize Theron guest starring! This is something you should have advertised! Maybe it's not only the viewers fault, but the PR's fault? I LOVE ME BLUTHS!
It's ok if Fox doesn't pick AD back up, because I can guarentee that another station will (ie Comedy Central) or that FOX will come crawling back after DVD sales and other network offers come in (ie Family Guy).
Its all about marketing. Fox screwed the pooch on this one trying to market to males 18-25. Maeby had it right. To paraphrase: "what a bunch of idiots, I cant believe we are trying to market to this demographic"
Just because a sitcom does not have a laugh track, doesn't mean people don't know when to laugh! Arrested Development is the best show on TV by far - at least it takes its audience seriously...
FOX are making a big mistake by doing this. Arrested Development is the most original show on tv, and shows American comedy writing at its best. a breath of fresh air amongst such shows like Will and Grace!
I think this is another ploy by FOX to get recognition for this show to boost advertising revenue. Fine, it worked. I'm doing something. Wake up FOX, don't alienate yourselves from the intelligent population that adores this show. We spend money too you know.
Arrested Development is one of the few excellent shows out there. Break away from the corporation stereotype Fox and let Arrested Development develop more of an audience. Your ratings and money pocket won't be sorry.
