AD is a smart sassy show, and it would be ashame to ax it. The characters are so well developed the plots are tight and well written. I hope this show can continue, and FOX will realize what a mistake it would be to cancel this show
The critical acclaim of Arrested Development is evidence that Fox has created its own problems by assigning a terrible time slot, and by giving competing shows a chance to lure away viewers during several weeks of baseball coverage.
The AD audience is largely made up of intelligent people with disposable income. The fans that I know are young professionals, graduate students, engineers, doctors, and the like—an ideal market for selective, high-end advertisers. If Fox wants to improve ratings and revenue, it needs to cut the idiots who plan their programming schedules rather than cutting a great show.
In the absence of Arrested Development, the smartest shows on Fox will be cartoons. And that spells bad news for a network that is otherwise famous for, well, bad news.
Tell me this, did other great sitcoms endure this lack of backing by their network? e.g. Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier, Family Guy? If FOX can't put themselves behind this gem of a show, I hope another network jumps on it so fast, and gives it the love it deserves. I'm sure CBS would shop considering the departure of Raymond, and NBC can't depend on W&G for much longer. What about lowly ABC, they could singlely revive their once somewhat great tradition of TGIF with this one show.
Attn: Network Execs.
Im upincomin' and as you should know the sitcom is dying. Bernie Mac is great but attempting to keep an audience, signing "The War at Home" is an insult.Viewer bases are switching to alternative formats...eerrrerrrr.. Family Guy(great), niptuck, desperate wives, cheaters (look at cheaters and blind date ratings). By cancling a revolutionary comedy such as Arrested Development. You are loosing an incredibly tight cast and your leading position of unique and actaulyl entertaining broadcasting. DVD sales will yet again booste this shows ratings and it will be an investment very worthwhile in the long run. Think of Night Court.. how rich is that guy who created it, just because of its longjevity and then how high were ratings at the end.... cumonnnn. Get it or the other 28 year old exec from NBC driving around studio city or culver city will if hes smart.
Fox,I've never signed a petition, written a letter to the editor, or protested anything in my life. I will however, make it my life's work to see that arrested development remains on the air. This show matters! Don't make us beg.
I had been very impressed with Fox for backing a show as edgy and clever as Arrested Development. Now I'm disappointed and angry. This show is the best and most mature decision that Fox has ever made.
Cancelling Arrested Development will be the stupidest thing Fox has done since cancelling Family Guy. You need to figure out how to put your good shows in the good time slots and keeping them on a regular schedule instead of forcing your dedicated viewers to have to jump through hoops in order to figure out when you're going to air them. That's BS. You move the show around, take it off the air for a month for stupid baseball, and then you cancel the show because you ****ed over the audience. Get a ****ing brain, morons.
Prison Break? Prison Break?...
you'll cancel a show after three seasons... to replace it with one that should (provided the writers of Prison Break aren't morons) take less than a season and a half to finish entirely. i mean don't you think it's a little gilligan's island-ish?
