For the most part, TV today is intolerable - this is one of the few shows I do take the time to watch. It's fan base will continue to grow if it is given the chance.
Please, keep this show going on network T.V.! But if that is impossible, please, please, please get this show to cable as fast as possible. At least that way even those of us without cable can look forward to the DVD releases.
Arrested Development is - hands down - the funniest, most original and clever program on television. The cast (outstanding actors as well as their characters) is absolutely phenomenal. For the short time Arrested Development has been on the air they have won several awards for their work! Why in the world would you take it off the air? If viewership hasn't caught on, run a mini-marathon or publicize the hell out of it. Canceling Arrested Development would be an ENORMOUS error for Fox. Reality television sucks! Please do not bow to the pressure and be too cheap to pay outstanding actors for this kind of word in order to save a buck to pay no name idiots on some reality bullsh*t farce. I, for one, refuse to watch mindless, unoriginal, humiliating reality television. I LOOK FORWARD TO ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT EVERY WEEK! PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS EXCELLENT PROGRAM!
It was as if my world got a little darker when I heard the announcement to cut back the episodes. Why not give it a time slot it deserves - where it will florish?
Do not cancel this show! It is the only good FOX show outside of the Simpsons and Family Guy. Canceling AD would realy show the lack of intelligence FOX decision makers have.
Why does it seem to be that all the best tv shows are being cancelled? AD, Futurama (another FOX program I believe) and Firefly? All my favourite shows, anyway. In an age of consistantly mediocre repetitive tv comedies, why is FOX ignoring the fact that it has a true gem on its hands with AD? Don't cancel it - GIVE US MORE EPISODES!
I watch a lot of TV, but this is the show that every week I can't miss. It's smart, clever, and really good fun, which is something that can't be said about sitcoms on other networks. This is a chance for Fox to say that quality matters more than viewership. Abandon this show and you're just showing people like myself that if we want good TV we better turn to cable, because the networks don't have the guts to do it.
This show is fantastic. It is one of the only good sitcoms on tv right now. You have to give something a chance before you cancel it. If you played more than once a month people might realize it is there.
While most of network television is cluttered with mindless rehashes of the same situations, archetypes, and clichés, Arrested Development has consistently remained one of the most witty, well written, and hilarious shows on television.
Arrested Development, without a doubt has been the smartest move the FOX network has made in…well, since one can remember. The thought of the FOX network, at one time, used to be the punch line for many a joke. A show like Arrested Development started to change that. It’s order cutback and endangerment only brings back the thoughts and mindset that quality programming is just not something the network is interested in.
I will admit, I’ve found nothing worth watching at FOX other than Arrested Development. In fact, its presence probably made me watch more shows on FOX that I would not have otherwise. Like so many others who feel the same way I do, once Arrested Development is gone, I’ll have no reason to continue watching this network.
I feel that a real problem lies in the network’s inability to properly market this show. Commercials and advertisements are rarely seen outside of immediately before and after the airing of an Arrested Development episode, which is not very conducive to enticing people who aren’t already watching. The advertising that does air, seems to give no indication of what the show is really about or any true feel for the program. Perhaps the show is not the problem, but the marketing by the network.
I truly hope that the network and those involved in the decision making process can see what such an incredible series could do for the rest of your network and programs, and will reconsider the fate of this show.
Please do not cancel the show. It is among the best shows on TV right now. Don't make the same mistake over again (like cancelling Family Guy, only to realize how freakin popular it is and then bring it back after a few years)
it's a sad reflection of how dumbed down our society has become, when an intelligent and hillarious show like AD faces cancellation and yet Trading Spouses survives.....UGH!
This is one of the few shows that is consistently funny, original, and intelligent. Everyone I know watches it, and most of us are in the 18-35 demographic. I know Fox is not exactly known for its intelligence, but the cancelling of AD would just reinforce my belief in the stupidity of Fox programming.
It's astounding that this wholly unique and captivating show is getting axed, while any number of by-the-numbers sitcoms and mind numbing reality shows dominate the networks. I am fully aware of the importance of drawing viewers, and realize that Fox is probably not interested in the least in airing something based solely on artistic merit, but the network could stand to save some face and even salvage some level of respectability. Arrested Development is one of the very few programs that keeps Fox from sliding back into it's well-earned reputation as a safehaven for morally irresponsible, witless garbage.

Although this petition likely means *nothing*, hopefully someone will someday look back and say "Oh, look. A handful [10,000?] of people liked our show. Too bad we killed it." If any cast or crew member reads this, your work has gone appreciated by many, and unappreciated by more. Thanks for your hard work, and we hope to see more of you in whatever medium available.
We just gotta accept the fact that FOX has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonder Falls, Fast Lane, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, Skin, Girl's Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunman, A Minute with Stan Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddy, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Louie, And Greg The Bunny....
Fox's decision is understandable, but also predictable in light of how often the show is moved and how difficult it must be for the casual viewer to find it...
There is a place for the brilliant likes of Arrested Development no matter how ahead of its time it may be, even on a network as devoted to medicrity as Fox. If the network devoted half as much effort to this for cultivating a proper timeslot and advertising as it did to its so-called "underdog" hit Prison Break, Arrested Development could easily draw the numbers it's worthy of.
