If this show is not cancelled, I will make an effort to buy at least one product a week advertised during its commercial breaks. Now, I'm not going to buy a a car just because it was advertised on AD, but if it means the difference between my generic soap, and Ultrasud 3000, right on.
It seems fair to note that this show has caused a spike in my consumption of Burger King products.
So FOX, what's the deal? Do you have some sort of fear about being wrenched from the bottom network slot? Christalmighty - even CBS has smartly-written TV now. Don't tell me you're content to sit there churning out RV Bimbos Do America, or Fat Xtian Woman Goes Ballistic without at least breaking up some of the sad and creepy monotony for the slackjaws.
At least PRETEND you give a damn about good programming. Trade ya for American Dad, how 'bout that?
Once again i find myself signing a petition to try to save the best show on Television. I don't know what the problem is, perhaps little promotion, perhaps no continuity because of sports coverage, perhaps people just suck. But whatever, please keep Arrested Development around for at least it's full complement of 22 episodes, just think of all the money you'll reap on the back end with DVD sales...
Arrested Development should be renewed simply on principle, to show that FOX isn't a total sell-out and actually cares about airing quality shows. Maybe the ratings are low b/c FOX doesn't do jack to promote the show to a wider audience. Why are they surprised that a show isn't successful when they've set it up for failure? If they really believed in it, they'd find the audience.
We need MORE, not less, intelligent comedies which are willing to make us laugh without resorting to cheap, overused clichés. Keep us 'Arrested', please!
Despite missing episode air dates, I still find Arrested Development to be one of the most profound and originally written shows on television. Fox doesn't seem to understand how to handle award-winning shows.
Another nail in the coffin of Network TV. One of the only smart, witty, intelligent funny shows on TV (most shows on network tv aren't even one of those things). Fox, for once, make the right decision and keep this show alive!
Fox set the show up for failure airing a few episodes before the month long MLB playoffs, and expecting viewership to pick up immediately after. Now they've set it on another "hiatus" which makes absolutley no sense considering they gave it one week to get viewers back without any notice it was back on. Just because the playoffs were so horribly rated doesn't mean AD should be the network's ratings lackey. Fox may as well pass the job of marketing the show on to the press since they sure as hell did a much better job of letting the public know how good it was. I think they've made a huge mistake...
Don't pull a famliy guy with this show. Keep it going while it's hot. The only reason the ratings fell is because no on knew whenit would be on. Monday night was a huge mistake. You want to see some insane, post-humous CD set sales? Cancel this show.
I'm probably not qualified to whip out any of the superlatives, but the show is decent. It is also the only thing that I make an effort to get to a television for.
Finally some good, funny and creative T.V. and no one gets it... don't get me started on the whole "dumbing down" phenonmenon that goes on out there. First the West Wing turns pansy and now this!!! ergggg...
This is the most kickass show ever. It's definitely up there with Seinfeld though its a completely show.If this show gets cancelled...a piece of me will die along with it.So don't just save the show...Save me as well!!! I need a banana ritter right about now.
Take away Arrested Development, and the Simpsons will be the only reason to watch Fox. Why are they cancelling it anyway? Do they need the time slot for another crap reality show?
In a time when tv has been so dumbed-down and so blazay and uninspiring...Fox put on this great show to restore our Faith. AD (arrested development) made my day, my week almost every week. It kept me giggling. Don't be dumb...keep it on air. Smart people need it.
You have just cancelled the smartest, funniest, and most entertaining show on television. Well done. Your track record isn't exactly stellar after cancelling quality shows like Firefly and Family Guy. I would boycott FOX completely, even Family Guy, if it weren't for your stranglehold on the NFL. I won't be watching anything but the NFL though. The least you could do is let another network, like HBO, pick the show up for new episodes. Unbelievable.
How can you feel justified by cancelling such an award winning show but have no problem keeping a show about a guy who can't get out of prison every week?
Remember what happened last time you cancelled a show in its prime? It only grew a life on another network...then you brought it back and everybody is happy!
By canceling both Arrested Development and Kitchen Confidential, FOX will have reduced the number of shows I watch on network TV from 3 to 1. Arrested Development is witty, brilliant, engaging and above all smart. I look forward to each and every episode. I feel like FOX has betrayed me before (with too many shows to list here). Please don't do it again by taking this amazing show off the air. Thanks.
You have made a more than one mistake. Why was it changed to Monday nights, competing with the football? Who makes your programing schedule, my daughters friend works in the business - it is't that hard to figure these out!
