I'm only signing this thing because my friend Amanda (post1710*Jersey*) wanted me to. Truth is I haven't herd AS sing live at all. I have seen the 30 second end clips of the orange bowl and all i herd was grunts and SCREEAAAAM which im not gunna judge her on because its grunts and the word scream lol also I herd there was a slew of tech difficulties during that whole thing. If I herd her live and she sucked then I'd say so but from everything I've herd so far she is actually really good. I don't see why people would put down looks as a reason to not be a singer lol its the voice that matters not the looks and if she actually cant sing then lucky for her she looks great from what i see and could get a career in acting. Hopefully if she does that she'll actually have acting talent. In any case, heres my signature on a hate petition heh. I think it's about time that Americans stand up and demand singers who can actually SING. It's time to get away from all this mass-produced crap and find actual music. Ever heard of writing your own songs? Playing your own instruments? SINGING your own song, for God's sake?? Ashlee Simpson does suck because she doesn't even sing well. A friend of mine LOVES her and said that she "feels sorry for Ashlee because she has to live in Jessica's shadow and plus, on that one episode, her voice got really sore and they had to go to the hospital and blah-blah-blah." (I stopped listening after that.) She doesn't sing well so we shouldn't listen to her. Period. She's just following in the footsteps of oh-so-many-other semi-marketable siblings, AKA Aaron Carter, Hailey Duff, etc.

I have trouble understanding why there is even an argument here. When did all of this become acceptable to people? Lip-syncing? The excuses are endless from Ashlee. Acid reflux? That´s just what people do? Who thinks this is OK? I have heard her sing live (as most of us have) and she isn´t very good. She stated in a Teen Peopl interview that anyone who is against her "are just old people who watch the news and don´t know anything about me." I am not an "old person" and I don´t know everything about here, but I do know that if you don´t sound good (for any reason at all, acid reflux included) you shouldn´t sing. There are bands who play live everyday and don´t use guidetracks. People come to see them play for the love of the music. If a singer gets ill or their voice is not up-to-par, they cancel a show. If you can´t sing, you don´t perform. Ashlee has stated that people who watch her show know that she struggled through singing on her whole album. Is that possibly because she is not any good? Is it because she can´t sing? With the digital age we live in anyone can "sound good" in a studio on a recording. That´s what a producer is for. It just sickens me that people reward poor quality due to a person´s name. Should we be deemed worthy before proving ourselves? People please just realize that there are talented people who sing their own songs and play their own instraments, and they do it well. Seek these people out and reward them! Don´t let Corporate America dictate who you listen to!
