77 19 Apr 2005 - 22:13    Mumford : I am a victom of sexual and domestic voliance. If more options, help and information was provided for myself and my childern, I would have never been so afraid to go. The help that was offered was not an option. Just after my Assault, I was told by many that, they could not help me. Do to the fact that I was still living in the home or that the halfway units were full. It seamed as if I had to be bleading to death or uproot my childern and leave every thing. Be out on the streets with out a dime or any kind of shelter for my childern before someone would give me any kind of aid. when you are a stay at home mom, no skills,no car, no money,(unless he gives it to you)where do you go. How do you get some where.I called many people. The police took pictures. We went to court and they gave us merrige councling. It wasnt easy for me but I stayed for 2 more years. I suffered while saving a buck hear and there.finally I left every thing.over 4 years of courts, lawyers,Declaring bankrupticey and loosing many jobs,I fought.I'm still fighting today. Aid sould be give to all in some kind of foram. They could of offer course to gain a skill or aid in the mental state this voliance causes. A compaion or womens group that could stop by. I have suffered almost 7 years total. I was the strong one and protected my childern to the best of my ability. Most women in this world start off having childern young and dont have the knowlage or skills to get a decent job or find away to get aid that will help them. Social services is not going to do it. they only go so far and not every one can be helped by them.... we pay taxes and put in our blood, sweat and tears to the USA. The goverment needs to start checking and worring about there own home before it crumbles to the groud. Our foundation is getting weaker and our goverment isnt seein this. Soon we will be a poor country, with nothing to show for it.....
