302 21 May 2005 - 7:43    Michael Tyler :
303 21 May 2005 - 7:55    Shanna Tyler : I was molested as a child and bullied by others to keep my mouth shut.I was denied justice. I was abused and neglected by those who were supposed to protect and love me.I was again denied justice. I was raped in high school and became pregnant as a result.I was denied justice. I was bullied into aborting my innocent baby by those who should have helped. I was nearly sexually assaulted in the U.S. Navy and defended myself by breaking his hands. I was locked in a hospital and over medicated because I was dangerous. Again denied justice. I was abused emotionally and physically by my husband of 8 years. I was again denied justice. I had my children ripped from my arms and see them at a visitation center while paying large legal bills and him large sums of money for support. Again denied justice. I am signing this petition not because I believe in the system because the system serves itsself. I am signing because I believe in the power of one voice. (anyone remember Rosa Parks?) I believe in our power to change the way things are in and out of the system. I believe we can be bigger than the system. We can make them listen one voice at a time.

308 23 May 2005 - 8:27    Victoria Neun : The legal system made me feel worthless for a long time. It's sad when we have to fight the system to be able to fight the criminals. The man who raped me at 16 years old is getting away with it. They legal system has allowed him to get away with it and he continues to hurt so many girls. This needs to stop now. Not one more victim!!!

313 27 May 2005 - 17:14    Sarah Davoody : it is so crucial to realize just how many men, women, and children are affected by rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence. It is an absolute OUTRAGE when perpetrators get away with their crimes and this is an obstruction of justice. The victims should NEVER be blamed for what happened - its NOT fair. Women can wear short skirts & whatever they want to and NOBODY has the right to touch them or say that "it was her fault". Men need to learn to control themselves-STOP the violence NOW. An invasion of personal privacy, a violation of human rights, an attack on women, we need more funding and resources for this issue- it is affecting so many people's lives, health, and well-being. Please help NOW. Thank YOU so much.

332 31 May 2005 - 23:18    melissa crook : I have been a victim and so has my sister. My sisters was less than a year ago and she has not seen the guy go to court. they say there isnt enough evidence. should they know she suffers from PTSD and her life is in shambles? Maybe then they would care, but as of now they dont. I think its a travisty that she, among others are treated this way. its about time there was an SVU in each county.

348 7 Jun 2005 - 20:44    Ciara Quinn : I have been abused as a child and was too afraid to tell, I've been raped twice since. Victims need to speak up and not be afraid. This is a topic which needs to be brought out into the open. The treatment of victims by police & the legal system needs to be changed. More rapists need to be sentenced to prevent re-offending and to help the victim feel like it doesn't matter(it does matter).
349 9 Jun 2005 - 5:43    Olivia Spires :
350 9 Jun 2005 - 15:18    Lesley Tharp : I am a 'victim of survival' Surviving the effects of the childhood molestation done by my father, yes I have overcome this abuse, But it still shapes my charecter today and always. He served only 6 years w/6 years of probation, last summer he completed his "punishment". And somehow lives in a house, while I sruggle everyday for emotional stability, and the RIGHT to live as a whole person somedays are fine, I could go weeks, sometimes months without suffering the effects of the abuse,- and sometimes the pain and atrosity of knowing what happend to me is happening to others all around me shatters my heart.I am 25 years old. And I live with this everyday.
