He made a stupid mistake. Please let him come to Australia and face whatever time he has to 'do' in prison here. I really feel for his family, especially his mother. I feel very much for him as he is facing a horrible death for a stupid mistake and cannot do anything to help the family that he is leaving behind. God knows I would hate to be in their situation. It is bad enough to lose a loved one by accident etc, but to have a young healthy son killed...it is beyond imagination. We ae not god and should not be able to take a life.....
I believe the death penalty is the most cruel and inhumane punishment and is an appalling abuse of the most fundamental human right - the right to life. Van Tuong Nguyen is a young man with no prior criminal conviction who does not deserve to pay the ultimate price for this mistake.
He needs to be free la. How can you singaporeans just sit there and not take action la ?
hurry up and free him la. He does not deserve to be kept in jail la....
sinapore is bad la !
Justice for all !!!!!!!
we live in the 21st century yet still capital punishment exists for a crime such as his ????????
This is riduclous la !
Singapore is Riduclous LA .
Please send Van back in his mother's arms, and back to the safety of Australia.
He is a spiritual inspiration and he has more decency and humanity than rapists or murderers. He was young and naive and made a mistake, but we all deserve to live.
Singapore Gov can't play god. Those jerks will burn in hell for the suffering they are causing. I will NEVER go to Singapore, nor will I support their goods or services. They're hypocrites and backwards. They are not a modern, caring, humanitarian society. They are barbaric, cruel and unjust. I hope they rot in hell.
VAN NEEDS TO BE SET FREE.

Does not the taking of Van's life make the Singapore Government guilty of an even greater sin than that of which this young man has been charged?
Singapore has a history of brutality against those who break the law - one need only look a few years back to the young American who was severely whipped with a rotund (cane) for something as petty as a graffiti violation.
I implore the citizens of Singapore to stand up and insist that mercy be shown to this young man – and rally your government to change this antiquated and barbaric law.
This law not only punishes Van – it also punishes his family and friends.
This is so sad. All he was trying to do was to pay of his brothers debts, thats life, people aorund us are going to be in trouble and its up to us to help them. What Van did was not only an act of bravery, it was also an act of humanity, which is way more than that #@$$#%$ judge showed. Life is full of mistakes, so Vans made one, but so what? are you telling me that no one has done as bad? Well they have and even they get let off early and Van didnt even do it for himself.
Pah, if this is the kind of punishment singapore gives for i admit, a really stupid mistake- but it was a brave act. Not everyone is as fortunate as you and those #$!@434 judges and so yeah, i would say singapore has definately changed ALOT now in my eyes. No one deserves to die, especially not Van Nguyen.
As Van admitted his mistakes please give Van a chance for him to prove that he has learnt from his mistakes.
The death penalty has never stopped crimes.
This young man does not deserve to die.
Please let him go, he has been punished enough. Taking of his life will not solve the problem, dealing with the suppliers will.
Dear Sir,
I think that Nguyen just made an mistake in his life and it is only the first time, I don't think he deserve to die. What about those rapis, I think those people should be dead more, becos they forsing some the person don't want and kill them, thos criminals they get 10 or 20 or 30 years only, good behavier they will be out in 10 years, those rapis they should be torcher before execute them. Nguen should be give another chance,I think even singaporen wont feel happy if Nguyen is eceuted also singaporerian also have heart and feeling, I think singaporen will forgive him once.

The Singapore govt has business dealings with drug lords while they kill mules. Condemn them all or pardon Van. I am cancelling my Optus services as a result. Telstra for me!
Why don't we hang all convenience store clerks for supplying ciggarettes that kill thousands each year.
I think this comment demonstrates just how ludicrous this is. He's 25 for Gods sake, it's barbaric to execute a life over something so trivial. Bring Nguyen back home now!!!
If there are so many people being hanged for various drug offences in Singapore then perhaps this form of punishment is not working as well as the Singaporean government thinks. Maybe rehabilitation is the answer rather than death as a form of sweeping under the carpet
The justice system is corrupt. We need to do all we can to save Nguyen. If this was John Howard's son, would he still be unable to change the sentence??
Don't let this boy become an obituary!
Van Nguyen should not be hanged for his crime.
Please do not kill him!!
Please put yourself in a situation as his mom Mrs. Nguyen.
Please open your heart and show your compassion to his young man
Sincerely,
Brandon N.
This has nothing to do with Singapore's laws, considering that Nguyen was on route to Australia. Please release this man to the apprpriate authorities, that is the Australian Government. Thankyou
They shall receive their punishment from God when they pass and it will be far greater than the punishment of Nguyen Tuong Van for such a little crime. In such a supposed civilised world is this what we have come to? Such Barbaric acts? People with great power who are seen as role models acting like such savage animals. Shame on you! No human can honestly say that they have not once made a mistake. The decision to hang Van is saying that every time one makes a mistake they should be killed for it. If that was the case we wouldn't be here, we'd all be dead.
Please pardon Nguyen tuong Van. He did not smuggled heroin into your country. All he did was passing your country carrying that forbidden drug. Please do not kill him.
Thuan Thi Do
The mistake that this young man made is nothing compared to the most evil of crimes that will be committed by those responsible for sentencing and putting him to death. To those responsible for this horrific crime, I say may the blood of this man be a reminder of the judgement that you will face for all eternity. I'd ask how it must feel to live with that, but it won't be something you carry only for life - it will be upon your soul for all eternity. We, the people, are DEMANDING, not asking, for clemency for Nguyen Tuong Van.
life has had its ups and downs, people make mistakes.. plus he DID NOT force anyone to buy his drugs, it was their decision to do so. I do dislike drugs but one's got to do what one's got to do. I mean if it was your own brother, wouldn't you do the same?? Anyways I don't think anyone on this planet can take away one's life, the life that was given by God. Like Magdalena.. who in their "oh so justice life" hasn't made a mistake ?? Who are you to judge someone.. who are you to take away one's life that doesn't belong to you?? " GOD, grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change. COURAGE to change the things I can and WISDOM to know the difference. " death is not the answer...
I like to state to all of those who think that it is okay for Mr Van Tuong Nguyen to be hanged than all I can say: "Fuck you's all!" If you think that way then perhaps you all should be hanged as well!
I don't like people
who think that they can go around, judging and condemning other individuals. Those who judge have the right to be judged themselves. Really, it is like it is easy for an individual who doesn't something and hasn't lived in accordance to others judge those who basically do something and live a life that is considered to be difficult and full of misery. Really those who have had it easy tend to judge those who haven't had it easy and really it isn't fair at all!
This person may have done the wrong thing (and I for one am against drugs) however, those in this petition who stated that by getting him executed will then reduce others for committing the same crime, well they are absolutely wrong! One. There are people out there who are still going to do the same thing and so it won't change anything at all. It is like people die of drug overdose, people die of execution the same doing doesn't neccessarily mean that it will improve the situation. This person was forced to doing it on the grounds that he was in financial trouble, there are lots of people out there in this world who have to do whatever they can to survive and really it is the fault of today's society. He admitted to his wrong doing, so he should definitely deserve clemency! I really do hope that he will be set free. I pray to God to let the Government of Singapore look into their hearts, instead of their legal rules and at least let their hearts speak the words of forgivness, instead of ready their laws, which insists on showing no mercy!
No one is perfect, if we all were perfect than the world would simply be ordinary. However, we all have to learn from our mistakes, please I hope Mr Nguyen is allo
As one who has personally seen the worst of prison conditions that my country of birth has to offer, I am opposed severely to the death penalty. I could virtually write a thesis on the negativity of such punishment, but shall instead sign your petition instead.....hopefully every little bit helps in some small way. If it does, then I'm more than happy to become a part of it.
