In life, sometimes we all make mistakes, althought we also make many good things. Please forgive Nguyen Tuong Van, do not kill him. Give him another chance in life.
We, the Pastors of Evangelical Church, Melbourne humbly submit this plea of clemency for Nguyen Tuong Vam. While we do not condone what he has done, we feel that the punishment is out of the proportion to the offence and as a repentant young man, grace should be applied and he be given another chance. At worse the penalty should be commuted to a life-sentence.
Thank you.
Ah Singapore...that lovely city that thinks nothing of disregard for human rights, does $600 million worth of trade with Burmar each year which is Australias biggest drug supplier...then has the cheek to say they are doing it to protect there citizens...last time i looked Van was headed to Oz with heroin so who are they really trying to protect? If they are trying to protect us then they can shove it! Capital murder is no protection at all! Australians have long memories MR Lee!
I've held off sending an E-Mail about this hoping that our Government would leave no stone unturned to try to stop this barbarism of Humans taking another human life without any God given right to do so. It would seem that our Prime Minister will not appeal to the "International Court of Justice" to try to stop this citing that it is a waste of time. I don't buy that attitude and it's high time that we as citizens of the World stand up and say no !!!!!!!! It's time our Government showed some backbone to stand up for Human Rights.
How can there ever be Peace or a New Age whilst we continue to live in fear and bigotry. Sure this young man has made a mistake in his life but how many of us at that age (25 years old ) can say that they did not also make a mistake. Will it help to commit another murder - will this solve anything.
Why do these people have no compassion or forgiveness - Is this Love - Is this the way of the Future for mankind.??????????
It's time to say No to this kind of Brutal Punishment - It's a thing of the past and must be left there where it belongs.
All of the Asian Nations including Singapore have a bad record on "ANIMAL RIGHTS' And "HUMAN RIGHTS" and I'm of the view that if they can't or won't listen to Diplomacy- Clemency or won't show love or compassion to Animals or Humans that we need to Sanction them by not buying any of their products again starting with "OPTUS".
" Optus" is a Singapore based company and let us show as Australians who are opposed to the Hanging of this yound man "Nguyen Tuong Van" that we are intent on letting them know about this. So let us all who are on Optus in this country change to other service providers as a means of protest.
Hanging this man is not accepta

You will not only be ending his life, but destroying his family and friends' lives as well. God bless you Van.

To Honourable: S.R Nathan, Honourable LEE Kuan Yew, LEE Hsien Loong, GOH Chok Tong and all important people whom is responsible for this 25 years old young man's death.
This are question I ask myself. Have I ever make a mistake before?
Of course, And I bet we all do. Please consider your decision whomever is responsible for Nguyen Tuong Van death. Why do I said "whomever responsible", because in my point of view, when Nguyen Tuong Van die that person will "responsible" for his death, they probably won't be happier than before, in fact, their conscience will be irritating when taking a person life away, and if you believe in God, in the Last die, he will punish those who neglect to forgive other people. No body is perfect. And I ask the petitioner, please don't said something that put down the government, because Nguyen Tuong Van's fault, he had made a mistake, and we are asking for the government generousity, which we all are asking God when the "Last Judgement" come, we all will be asking for God generousity in order to avoid "hell", again no body is perfect. And by that time, no matter if you are the "government", or "slave", we all will be judge fairly base on how we treat other human being, because treating nice to other human to treating nice to God, human is creation of God, and we should take care of God's creation not destroy. God will judge us very critical, because we "all make mistake", so if you depend on the good heart of heart to forgive you, than you need to forgive those whom did wrong to you first. Even if you don't believe in God, as human being, we have the idea what is right and wrong. Killing other people is totally wrong, no matter what they do, because, you don't give them life, how can you take their life away? Only God will punish them at the end. Why doin
Hanging Van is a huge travesty of justice. He does not deseve to die for making a mistake such as he has made.
Singapore is so hypercritical! They have strong ties with Burma one of the biggest drug running countries in the world! If they were serious about stopping drug trafficking they would not hang this boy and would let him live so that he can name the people at the top. Mandatory death sentencing is so wrong and inhumane.Australia and in particular our so called leader John Howard should be making a stand against this law.He says we cannot interfere in another countries law. Well, he doesn't mind interfering in Iraque or Afghanistan does he?!!
I can remember a time in the "good old days" when Australians and our politicians would stand up and be counted for what is right and against what is wrong no matter the consequences. John Howard is a pathetic excuse for a Leader. He is so full of his own self importance that he has lost touch with doing what is right. John Howard, you have sold your soul and Z hope you never know another moments peace for allowing this to happen. You have put a price on this boy's head and that price is the almighty dollar of trade. That is all you think about. You are a disgrace to spirit of Australia!
My thougths and prayers are with Van and his family. I have cried many tears for you and your pain.I am thinking of you.
Please postpone the hanging for Nguyen Tuong Van.
Hanging him in this condition is cruel.
You think, why many people have petition to postpone hanging?
Once more, please have a delay.
Thank you so much
Such a disproportionate sentence is sickening and barbaric. It is the responsibility of John Howard and his government to do all that they can and more to save this young man. It is weak and indifferent of Mr. Howard to fail to even raise the matter whenever possible.
If reports are true, that Van has co-operated with police etc. regarding those 'higher up' in the chain, surely he deserves some reduction in sentence.
If he is executed, what incentive would there then be for anyone in the future fingding themselves in this horrid position (albeit their own doing), to aid the authorities!
Please get educated and legalize and regulate all drugs so that the youth of our World and the illegal element of criminal individuals don't run the Market.
Save Nguyen Tuong Van and spare a young man a terrible death for a mistake he has openly admitted to.
God and the people of the World - PLEASE save this young man.
Please save this young man. He is too young to be death. If we give he a chance, he could be a good man for the future. Death penanty is not a solution for the society
I feel ashamed when I hear of Nguyen Tuong Van's wrongdoing, but give him a chance, no government or person has the right to judge him, his creator will when the time comes. I am even more ashamed to read the negative dribble of other uneducated, racist Australians who are wasting their time on this site. If the time comes that your loved one/friend makes a dreadful and stupid mistake dreadful mistake, you may see things differently.SAVE HIM!!!!
spare this guy, he is not evil. just shows how brotherly love can blind a person into committing very big mistakes. This ****en Singapoorian President guy is an old fart but ****en selfish. he lives to 85 properly been through nearly every thing in life, good and bad but yet failed to give this poor guy the right to live. I was in the same unit in port phillip with a few singa boys caught smuggling smack into australia , they will properly spend 5-10yrs in a holiday camp compared to VAn. Johnny H your r a Fuckhead, Hard. U had the chance to tell this Old fart but buckled at last minute with a 1 liner. now the Singaooreans just think "damn even the ir PM doesn't even care, and think if their PM says "thats just how their law is" then it makes them think what they r doin' to exceptable. Fuck SR Natan, Fuck Johnny Howard, Fuck Singa laws, Fuck Death Penalty and Fuck all these Negative talk from Australian goverment and its Motha Fucken Crew. Ps: no relations to TVN. michelle leslie is cute.
Let me tell the this to the government of Sing. Nguyen Tuong Van can die through his mistake but our Vietnamese people and Australian people are not die with your grossly judgmnet. We're not trying to protect Nguyen Tuong Van because he scare of death but we are trying to refraise your animal judgement. Your poeple has showned the other side of human to the World. Nguyen Tuong Van can die in his dignity and the fact is we are looking nose to nose to your poeple and say "Fuck Off you Singchi Bitch"

It seems stupid to me that Australians will sell off the Australian government's share in QANTAS and let a large slab of its ownership fall into the hands of Singapore Airlines which is a government run airline. Have we not just exchanged which government owns our national carrier?Furthermore, this government is a repressive one and one that doesn't seem to share the values of Australians with respect to life and the dignity of people. I cannot see that business interests should be quarantined when Australia deals with such governments.
Although Van did wrong, how many people did he save by assisting the authorities, surely that should be taken into concideration,Save Van as he has Saved
please spare Van's life! Everyone made mistakes in their lifetime and I think it is not fair to kill this man just because he try to help his brother out. Give him a chance just as God always give us many chances in life.
It makes me sick to see the Singapore government's reluctancy to spare this man's life. I have only just finished high school and have been following this case since it began. I understand that his 400grams of heroin may have killed 6 - 8 people if it was sold on the market. Let me repeat 6-8 dependant users in one year not the 26,000 the singapore government grossly claims but 6-8 as a prominent melbourne drug researcher has shown. But what is 8 compared to the hundreds that their Bali bombers have killed. And what punishment did they get? Just a slap on the wrist and a couple of years in jail. It's disguisting.
The punishment does not fit the crime and Van does not deserve to die. This man has shown integrity throughout his case and has shown the world courage for his family and friends when although the media does not show it, it is certain that he would be feeling petrified at this moment. No one has the right to kill a fellow human being. By doing so you are playing God and no one but God has the right to do so. The death penalty is an abhorrent abuse of power and pains my soul to see it still in place.
I am disguisted that John Howard has not yet and does not intend to appeal to the ICJ in regards to Van's case. This man our prime minister seems to rather want to keep face than to pursue justice. Only little Johnny Howard sir you don't know what face is. From playing Bush's dog to now i along with many other Australians as well as people around the world have lost all respect for you. I would have thought that with such a big opportunity to regain our respect right in front of your nose you would take it by joining Prime Minister Helen Clark of New Zealand in pushing for clemency but i guess this just shows how thick you really are.
Although i have no connection with Van Nguyen i feel so strongly for his case that yes i do get angry, yes i do get emotional not because i'm a teenager and therefore mu
I have children myself and although i think what he did was disguistingly wrong the punishment does not fit the crime. He does not deserve to die please grant him clemency. How are we suppose to tell our children that to learn from our mistakes are the most important part of life when here in singapore we are killing people for making desperate mistakes. Please spare this man Van's life.
