i feel very touched by such tragady i hope something can be done and the government start finding the real criminals behind this disgusting thing called drugs.. I feel very sad that young innocent people fall in these traps. i will remember van and pray that he is safe and treated fairly whist in prison
I believe that htere should be a stiff penalty for drug dealing. I also believe that every case should be handled diffenty. Murders and child molesters should face the death penalty. These countries that impose the death penaly for drug trafficing she seroouily rethink their laws. I do not belive that signing this petition will make any differance. I hope that it does.
I WOULD TRULY LIKE TO APPOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE & ANYONE THAT I HAVE OFFENDED ON THIS PETITION, (AND SEVERAL OTHER PETITIONS) .....
ESPECIALLY TO VAN, HIS MUM & TWIN BROTHER & THE REST OF THEIR LOVING FAMILY!!
I WAS VERY WRONG IN BLAMING VAN FOR GETTING CAUGHT WITH MY DRUGS....I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO USE AN AMATUERE MULE, BUT IT IS TOO EASY WHEN A LOVED ONE IS IN TROUBLE, AS HIS BROTHER WAS!
PLEASE FORGIVE ME VAN...
I WILL KEEP SIGNING ONTO YOUR PETITION & HELP YOU BRING THE TOTAL NUMBER ...UP....
BE STRONG, YOUNG VAN....
YOU WILL SURVIVE!!
please let this guy stay alive its such a harsh penalty for such a little crime.

MY HEART GOES OUT TO THIS BOYS MOTHER AND I NO HOW HER AND HER FAMILY MUST BE FEELING AS MY BROTHER HAS JUST RECIEVED TME IN A FOREIGN PRISION AND ITS A GUT RENCHING FEELINGXGOD BLESSX
THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED YES HE WAS CAUGHT CARRYING THE DRUGS BUT IT SHOULD BE THE PEOPLE A THE TOP OF THIS GAME WHO GET PUNISHED EG THE PERSON WHO USED THE THIS POOR LAD TO TRAFFIC THE DRUGS. IS IT NOT BAD ENOUGH THAT THIS YOUN LAD HAS BEEN LOCKED UP IN A DISGUSTIN PRISION WITH IN HUMANE CONDITIONS!? MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY
i think this man should not be put to death over a bit of herion especially when he`s only trying to help his brother. and ok #595 don`t you see that really by saying these things you are really helping the petition...they don`t care what you say, all that counts is how many signatures there is so go get a life!!
Although this petition does not guarantee any changes or Tuong Van's life, as a society we should do as much as we can to help demand for Tuong Van's clemency. Although things are not looking top, but we can still hope for the best. So to the writer *SHUT THE F*CK UP* .. you should really listen to your own words and SHUT THE F*CK UP!!! but thanks for adding to the signature count!
Tuong Van should by law receive punishment for his wrongdoing. Despite the fact that he did it to help his brother, it was wrong. However, the death penalty is way to extreme to pass on anyone! The Australian Government should recognise that even more serious crimes committed in Australia (such as rape or murder!) only deserve life sentences. Giving a man a death penalty.. taking his life for smuggling drugs.. is way out of proportion of the committed crime. Not just because he is Australian, but because he is a living being, the Australian government will hopefully do everything to appeal against Tuong Van's sentence. Tuong Van was wrong.. he made a wrong decision.. BUT HE DESERVES TO LIVE!! and he deserves a chance to redeem himself!
I am a teenager who does not drink, smoke or do drugs but I can forgive Tuong for his foolish mistake commited under financial pressure. Taking his life will achieve nothing. Please spare the life of this young man in the name of humanity.
No-one exits who has never made a mistake in their life. Tuong's punishment is out of proportion to his crime. The big fish out their are most likely in high places and untouchable. Do not end the life of this young man who can contribute so much to help others in the future. Losing his life will help no-one but make a murderer out of the hangman. This is not justice. Let him serve his time then allow him to help others.
Please grant this man clemency. The death penalty is too harsh. Schapple Corby had a WHOLE BAG of MARIJUANA and is not even confessing her crime while this man has co operated at all times and admitted his mistake.
To fellow petitioners: "SHUT THE FUCK UP" is clearly someone with too much time on their hands and spends most of their time constantly keeping an eye out for this particular petition to pop up in the most popular petitons list. For some reason or another they seem to find pleasure in abusing people fighting for human rights. However, I am sure they have their own reason for doing so... maybe this person is lonely and the only communication he gets is through drawing attention to himself in high profile petitions. Or maybe they have a condition whereby they enjoy and find pleasure in abusing people and being abused in return. Whatever the reason i thank he/she for contributing to our signature count and hope for your sake that you will not one day be in the same position as Mr Nguyen Tuon Van because if we find out you were the one making these comments i am sure you will not recieve a petition nor will you have people fighting to save your life.
To the others lets stop wasting our time arguing with someone who does not deserve our time (I am sure i have wasted enough for all of us) and work together to focus on giving this man a fair trial and potentially saving his life.
This man, although he was caught smuggling drugs, should be give the same chance a Michelle Lesslie and Schapple Corby. He should not he hanged for trying to bring money into his family.
this penalty is un-just and serves no purpose in this case, if singapore wants to stop drug traficking they need to activvely purssue the ring leaders and not be complacent at the idea of murdering a mule, until then, the death penalty for drug offences has to stop.
I beseech you to spare this young man`s life.He has been foolish and reckless, but to lose your life is a terrible retribution for being young and immature.
#563 really enjoys signing SEVERAL petition...well, at least he IS HELPING to get the signature numbers up! He should spend as much time learning the English language, as he spends surfing petition sites. You should feel sorry for this ignorant, pathetic little man with too much time on his hands. Maybe the confiscated drugs were his???
This young man needs to pay the consequences of illegal activity -but death NO WAY -hanging - ABSOLUTELY NOT.how can a person pay for there crime when they are dead?
The death penalty gives no opportunity to redeem himself.
Please spare this man's life, have compassion for his circumstance and family (I'LL PRAY FOR YOU, vAN). For the ones that doesnt have a heart - when something like this happened to you, your dad, brother, uncle or friend, you would do the same thing and thats begging the world for help, SO BE NICE!!!
personally i think the death penalty should be abolished.. i mean.. a person only deserves deathe if he himself has caused the death of another person... and even those who have committed such a serious offense also deserve a second chance, and i sincerely hope that the government will give him a second chance
He should be given a second chance to live. Look! He looks sorrow and regretted. And he is handsome by the way. If I were him, how pessimistic i would be.
I have no association with Mr Nguyen, however after reading the brief outline of his case, Morally he should be given a second chance by reducing the penalty imprisonment. Although it is to set a deterence against future crimes, I believe that the Australian Government Body should do whatever that is possible in their power to attempt to give this man a chance to continue his life and reconsider his actions to hopefully turn over a new leaf.
