THIS MAN DESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIVE AND A CHANCE FOR REHABILITATION. HE HAS NO CRIMINAL HISTORY LEADING TO THIS ONE. GIVE HIM 10-15 YEARS FOR HIS CRIME BUT PLEASE DON'T STRANGLE AND KILL HIM LIKE AN ANIMAL. HE IS COOPERATING WITH INVESTIGATOR TO FIND THE REAL CRIMINALS. PLEASE DO NOT SLAUGTER HIM! HE IS A HUMAN BEING, WHO'S ALSO A A LOVING SON, A CARING BROTHER, HE HAS NOT HURT OR CAUSE ANY ONE PAIN OR SUFFERING...HE HAD COMITED A CRIME BUT CRIME DOES NOT FIT THE PUNHISHMENT. I'VE ALWAYS HEARD THAT SINGAPORE IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY WITH NICE AND EDUCATED PEOPLE. PLEASE DON'T SUFFICATE, TORTURE AND KILL VAN LIKE ONLY ANIMAL WOULD DO TO OTHER ANIMAL...
I WOULD NEVER EVER GO TO SINGAPORE AND URGE ALL FOREINERS NOT TO SET FOOT ON SINGAPORE AS TOURIST IF THIS EXECUTION TOOK PLACE. SHAME ON PEOPLE WHO CLAIMED THEMSELVES AS EDUCATED, CIVILIZED & HUMANE AND DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A HARSH PUNISHENT AND A BARBARIC ACT OF ENDING THE LIVE OF SOMEONE BY STRANGLING THEM TO DEATH....SHAME ON THE SINGAPORE JUDICIAL SYSTEM... AN EYE FOR AN EYE, THIS MAN HAS NOT KILL ANY ONE... HAS NOT BURN ANY BODY HOUSE, HAS NOT RAPE ANY BODY. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU CAGED ANIMALS?
Death penalty has no place in a modern advanced and democratic country. Besides, in the present case, its application is absolutely disproportionate to the crime committed.
We all human, we all make mistake but please understand there's a touched reason which was helping his brother. We all worth a second chance. I know a law is a law but there are new laws and we should make new laws for different circumstances.
It's so sad that it has come to this.. I understand what Van has done is wrong - Drugs are wrong !! But he shouldn't loose his life for this mistake. I know this doesnt count but he only did this to help his brother and if this is true well it shows that he has a good heart and loves his family. Im not trying to make excuses but death is not the way to go. I hope his life is spared. Best Wishes xx
I am totally disgusted in the Singapore Government! What sort of people kill fellow human beings??
Van is a young man who has made a mistake. Who can honestly stand up and say they haven't ever made a mistake in their life???
He certainly hasn't hurt anybody....yet the Singapore government feel they have the right to take his life......CLEARLY I SEE WHO IS COMMITING THE GREATER CRIME HERE!!!
For our countrymen/women and comrades in arms to die in battle/war is one thing - but in times of peace our world should be civilised enough to condem this action. I see it as "murder" - such arrogance that country has and how pathetic is the Australian Government - we should withdraw ALL aid to these countries - are you listening Mr Howard?
Jail sentence woould be more than enough. Isn't hanging someone for a mistake too much ? Common Singapore politicians, don't tell me you guys never made a mistake in your life !!! Bunch of hypocrites !!!
Capital punishment is cruel and barbaric. There is little deterrent effect in taking someone's life. People make mistakes and should be forgiven. This is an extreme action that shouldnt be encoruaged in any way. Van is a young man with his life ahead of him. Allow him another chance.
This "boy" is an australian. We all need to remember that to forgive is divine. Remember he has family and they will all suffer from this it will not help anyone to hang this boy..... Reconsider this penalty.
I am appalled that a young man who shows remorse & has no previous criminal record AND can be rehabilitated, is to be executed in a cruel and barbaric manner. This is a punishment out of the dark ages and until all human beings show more regard for the value of, and sanctity of all human life then all humanity will will be the worse for it.
Sure drug runners are aware of the implications of what they are doing however where is the malicious intent to kill in Nguyen. He does not deserve to die and his mother and family do not deserve to endure this. I am very disappointed and saddened by the insistence of the Singapore Government to go ahead with this and other barbaric executions. The time to show clemency and be humane is NOW.
I send this message as citizen of European Union: death sentence for drug trafficking sounds middle-age practices. Singapore deserves a better image than a country with such practices.
Jesus died to give people a new chance. He forgives all of our sins, including the sins of this man. Please give this man a new chance. He may do something great one day. God bless you all. I will be praying for Nguyen Tuong Van, his family, and those who will be making decisions. Peace and love to all.
to the authorities who have this mans life in their hands. please stop and look at the bible. we are all sinners. do not do this. dear god almighty help this young man in his time of need. for you are the king of kings. amen.
killing someone never does any good whatsoever. running drugs is stupid, but even in my capital-punishment-obsess ed country (USA) someone would not get such a penalty.
I lost my own brother to a heroin overdose. Nevertheless, I do not support the death sentence for heroin trafficking, precisely because I know the pain of losing a family member.
I normally go to Singapore once a year... to spend my hard earnt money... but never again.. I don't want to support a country that treats people like this. Not even animals should be treated this way. This poor young man has made a mistake, forgive him and save his life.
Please, I understand that you must do what is necessary to preserve the law in your country. However please remember that this young man did what he thought he could to help his brother, out of love. Please do not sentence someone to death because of a foolish act he did to save his brother.
everyone make mistakes even you are young or old.please, give him a change to live after he have to pay for what he was done .why today still have any countries use to hang criminals just because they are drug mules ?
Please reprieve this man, we all make silly mistakes in our life. give him the chance of life. My heart goes to his mother and family, always have hope I now how you feel.

I hate heroin and all the bad things this product can make but I don't think this man deserve death penalty. I'm sad for him and his family and I hope he will get clemency.
