Billy Crystal is a boring, long-winded Oscar host. He takes (more like wastes) the first 30 minutes of the already long-eonough show to attempt to be funny. Keep in mind, it's Sunday, most of us have school or work the next morning (especially on the East Coast is it most angering).

This past year (2004), Crystal turned this into the "Billy Crystal Show." That is the last thing we need.

Here's a suggestion of alternative (and better hosts):

Billy Crystal is not a funny man. even when he was on Soap he was a poor actor/comedian, but you people who waste your time watching phony celebrity award shows are even more mediocre than the actors/actresses who are "the chosen ones" in this self indulgent gang bang.

Au contraire, this year with CHRIS ROCK bit the big one and we need to BRING BACK BILLY C. Right away! He made it better with his parodies and songs and we feel at home with him. I AGREE the show is becoming WAAAAY too predictable and I think the OSCAR voters should DELIBERATELY NOT vote for the favorite in some categories so it will be a shock and pleasant surprise. For example, JAMIE FOXX was SO expected to win that it would have been spectacular if he HADN'T, as it was just an 'IMITATION' of Ray Charles, really, and he cheated with rubber eye covers and didn't even do his own singing like Sissy Spacek did in 'Coal Miner's Daughter'.

Billy Crystal was a great host. Sure, I'd like to see those other people host as well, but Billy did just fine. He made the show much more entertaining.

rethink your list or replacements. Robin Williams would be enfuriating and exasperating. Nicholson? would never do it and would have nothing to say...ditto Adrien Brody. Tom Hanks? He has spoken enough in his lifetime
