Most schools don't allow girls to clad in Halter Tops, or Sun dresses. They feel its inappropriate and too revealing! I don't think that a girl exposing her back is anymore inappropriate than exposing her face. I think girls of all ages should be allowed to wear backless garments to school.

I don't see why we can't wear halter tops to school. In my school, we can't even wear tank tops or any other shirts without sleves. I mean, everyone has a back or shoulder...what's the big deal in showing it. Different parts of the body turn different people on...some like feet, other ankles, other backs...If that's why this rule exists then we'd need to go with huge sweaters and pants all the time. It's a stupid rule.

i think we should be able to wear halter top because i shirt is a shirt and as long as we are coming to school it shouldnt matter.

the reasoning behinde this type ruling...most often has nothing to do with the student body at all. I't the staff...that can't keep it in there pants..so in efect your girls are torturing you teachers...and making there minds go where it's VERBOTEN! :-) skin is skin...if everyone was taught to view nakedness in a positive way from birth..this would be a non-issue. But hey..back in my day..we had the no...non-politicaly correct shirts could be worn....or susspention would occure. so..we planed it out..and one day..EVERYONE wore a bad-ass shirt..:-) can't suspend the whole school...can they!? sorry guys..but this time..that would call for you to wear a halter top!....let me know how THAT! works out!

I think it was inapropriate that Laura said that people look like hoes just because they show there backs. I know as a rule that boys like to study a girl's back when its bared, but they study a girls face even more, so if a girl is to be required to keep her back totally covered, then why not cover her face as well! Now for grammer school girls, they are not out to flash the little boys, and I don't think the boys at that age would pay any attention to a girls back since they are still at that "girls yuck!" stage! So what would be the big deal about wearing a halter top to school? We see girls wearing them in restrunts to clearly states "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service".

I agree, there is no reasons why girls should be restricted from wearing halter tops or any other kind of backless garments to school. Its not like they are appearing on the campus as "Topless".

I think Phil is correct! There is nothing so lewd about girls exposing their backs via wearing a halter top to school. Its not like that are attending as totally topless! Go to the mall on a hot Summer Day and see how many girls you find with their backs exposed! Try calling them prostitutes for wearing a halter top! If a girl exposes her back is considered lewd, then perhaps the girls should keep their faces covered as well!

Yes, there are plenty of reasons why girls (or boys) should keep their clothes on. One of those reasons has to do with the fact that it's SCHOOL, and you're obligated to do as they say. If you have any beef with that, quit school and take up a career in prostitution- because, hey, you already have an appropriate wardrobe.
