I see this font all over the place, I find it sickening as it is not eye-catching, over-used, and not even good as a decorative font, it's either this font or times new roman that people use, the latter being preferable.Helvetica, for the win.
I work in graphic design and I HATE comic sans. I agree with you, and support you completely. I am even willing to send hate mail to Bill Gates about this. I feel very strongly about it.
I support this with every ounce of strength I have. Everywhere I go I see the unjustified use of Comic Sans and such blatantly lurid oversimplicity (for that is what the font conveys to me) repels me. I have always been one for graver and more elegant (but still readable) fonts and it pains me to see Comic Sans used for everything, as if it were the only form. May it vanish and never return.
The problem is not so much Comic Sans itself, but rather its application by fuzzy headed buffoons who feel it necessary to adorn public messages with its inherent 'Wackiness'.
