The idea that amateurs shouldn't be making fonts is typographic snobbery. And Vincent Connare *is* a professional typographer. Sure, he worked for Microsoft, but no one's perfect. That said, for the offense that is Comic Sans, I am willing to give in to the movement of the lynch mob. Bannish Comic Sans!
And while we're at it: Steve, what the $@ were you thinking when you took the precious little font space in my iPhone SDK and polluted it with Marker Felt!? Even worse I have to write notes with this thing, since no one else is allowed to make a notepad!? I'm
sorry, but my notes look nothing like Marker Felt just as my mental notes look nothing like Comic Sans.
I am a biologist and for some reason biologists seem to love Comic Sans. I do not understand this at all. It makes for very un-professional looking talks and posters. The only solution to this problem is to ban the font entirely. Once it is eliminated from the field of biology, I can again take my comic-sans loving colleagues seriously.
I not support this petition.
I think this is like resistance to the technological revolution. Fonts was expensive. Now they're not. It is just a progress.
And there are by far uglier and unreadable fonts that are overused too.
I support this petition. I ABSOLUTELY HATE comic sans used for anything! There are so many wonderful fonts out there to use, but everyone picks the easy (and incredibly ugly) way out. I live with someone who LOVES comic sans and it has driven me crazy for years! So please, Microsoft, abolish it before it takes over the world!!!
