Widespread abuse of comic sans clearly indicates that many writers today simply don\'t know their audiences and don\'t recognize the impact of typography on their personal or organizational image.
I support this petition. I am a professional graphic designer and have considered myself an expert typographer for nearly a decade. I curse Microsoft daily for any number of reasons - often for providing visually ignorant people with too many fonts. I groan/sigh pretty much any time I see Comic Sans. I have never used it. I\'ve never used Helvetica either, but that\'s a different story.
I support this petition. I discovered this when my tutor began to use it on all of her handouts. I researched alternatives and stumbled upon this worldwide (wordwise I might say) movement.
I have been an avidly opposed to comic sans for as long as I can remember. Get rid of this abomination and save people from making fools of themselves with this joke of a font.
I support this petition. This font does make me laugh. And it makes me cry. If a dog were to try to scratch his or her booty on a sandy beach with a bit of a turtle poking out, if you know what I mean, perhaps the scratchings would resemble the horribly slouchy misshapen macaroni look of this supposed font. Fooey to Comic Sans. Go find yourself and come back when you are ready to be a real font.
The use of Comic Sans is a blight to typographic society. Not only should the typeface be banned; all physical appearance and evidence of this atrocity should be purged.
It is really good for children who are learning to read. Some first grade teachers use it in the classroom because the letters \"a\" and \"g\" look like the children\'s printing.
Really, when you have so many choices, does it need to be banned?
Comic Sans, like every other font has its place and uses. I say ban the people who use it incorrectly. I get a kick that everyone who makes a \"ban comic sans\" banner or product uses comic sans to do so.
I do NOT support this ban. You have got to be kidding me that someone is taking all this time to ban a font that you can choose not to use instead of banning issues more appropriate..
Comic Sans does not support Hebrew, the script with all the coolest-looking letters. Obviously there is something horribly wrong with this font, and we should shun its use.
I saw the article about Comic Sans in the WSJ. I know more about typography than most people will ever know, and I don\'t find this font offensive. It is fun, if used in appropriate documents, although it can certainly be misused, as can Garamond, Bookman, Century, Goudy, or any other font. People who react this strongly to something as insignificant as a font choice really can\'t have much of a life. Sad, and a bit pathetic...

How about being more concerned that we have fonts that make a capital i and a lower case L indistinguishable.

Papyrus should be banned, too. Along with other horrific and unnecessary fonts that only exist for the mere torture of graphic designers and typographers.
