I have spent more of my life changing formal technical presentations from Comic Sans to a decent font than I care to think about. Plus it is the work of the devil.
I support this petition because I want to write my name somewhere. And I'm going to say it looks stupid so the mysterious "owner of this petition" puts my name up! It looks stupid anyway.
Every single sheet at...well, anywhere uses it. It's supposed to make documents look inviting and appealing, but just makes me even more bored with whatever is on it. Whenever I recieve a page that uses Comic Sans, I immediatly know that it will be either depressing, enraging, boring or a combination of the three.
Because, ugh, all my teachers this year use this font, even for tests. It hurts my eyes and makes me feel like I am in first grade. I'm in high school! Why don't the teachers just use Georgia or Times New Roman font. Those are nice and make me feel professional and smart... rather than stupid cartoon character
I actually have students who write essays and research papers in this font! Utterly ridiculous! Do you know how obnoxious it is to read papers written in this wastrel font?! Jeesh.
I cringe every time I see this font used in a serious setting.
There is a bank near a friend's house whose signage is done entirely in Comic Sans, complete with a childish hand-drawn "sun" in the backdrop. Would I trust my money to these clowns? Hardly.
CS has its place: on homemade flyers of people who think it's very cute. In the professional world? It has no place.
I feel that this font is ok for very small childre, but it is neither easy on the eye as far as design skills go and that it detracts from the information you are trying to get across.
