Not all goth people cut themselves..and cutting/harming yourself is not a gothic trend.You probably know someone who has harmed themselves and you just don't know it yet. Isn't Goth, like, a culture? It's not as much a personal preference as it is something one was born as. The only choice made is an aesthetic one. Goth does involve intellectualism but there is a prevalent high school trend which everyone is observing, yet neither the observers or partakers in trendiness understand the values of the genuine Gothic culture. Goths have made outstanding contributions to their own culture through art, music, poetry, literature, clothing, philosophy, and through the ideas, opinions, theories, convictions, and values all stemming from their own belief system! Goths are fascinating. They are a culture. It is this high school clique that they actually resent being connected with.
I think gothic people are possibly the lowest kind of human being in society. they think they are so intelligent, artistic, amazing, and unique but really, it's just the opposite. goths are probably the most conforming people on the planet. they will only listen to dark, sad, depressing music, put scary things on their pages, and wear black, black and more black. anyone who becomes goth is automatically a moron. there are millions of people who dress goth and there is nothing original about it. everyone's life has something bad about it, and if you are actually going to change your entire persona just to show everyone how unhappy you are, you are a huge pussy. goths need to grow up and realize they are not special, and makeing yourself look like a freak and decorating your spaces with scary and depressing things is only going to make life more depressing.
Hey there's nothing wrong with goths or emos. I personally am the exact the exact opposite of either (preppy), but still there's nothing wrong with them. You need to be more open minded, because some people have hard lives and going goth or emo is the only thing they know what to do. OR, some people just like the color Black.Or, they have other reasons for being the way they are. Labels are stupid. Ban the goths!!! Every gothie I've ever met were psychotic, maybe it comes from too much black hair dye.
