I love that there is a stereotype of the typical WoW player. They must be
fat, anti-social, mentally deluded and have a major lack of future
prospects. I will say that there is a minority that are exactly like this
but for others, this could be no further from the truth. WoW is an MMORPG
(Massive Multi Player Online Role Playing Game) and due to that, there is a
great deal of addiction (As with most good MMO's). But at the end of
the day, This is a passtime. I had actually did some work into the link
between video games and violence and as it stands, people have these
tendencies within themselves already. WoW just happens to be a way of
passing the blame. The government has done it with music, comic books,
Grand Theft Auto and now they are moving onto games like WoW. Please find
something descent to petition against.

know!! Amazing how i came to realise that crap only after i stoped playing

WORLD OF WARCRAFT ****S. people who play it are never the same after the
free trial peice of ****. This game sould come with a head warning on it,
like cigeretes, not only does only WOW **** but all MMORPGs. The fact that
there is a "science" used to lore people into countless hours
spent on a game is just is ruining humanity. Look it up on wiki if you want
to see more about it. Anyway when a player starts playing WOW they have a
mindset that they will play it when ever there bored and they claim the
wont get addicted. The start playing and when asked how long they play they
claim for only about an hour even though in reality the time is acually
going by while your consumed in this new found way of life. I myself was
reluctant to play when some of my friends bought the game, i told them many
times to not even buy it becasue of the risk of your lifes going down the
****ter. In only a week into the game they have already become slaves to
the game, all the talk about is play WOW, all the do is play WOW, they
rather not leave the house and could care less about school work. When i
here about it i am tempted to play it but i just cant. I know what it does
to people and if any of you who bothered to read this and havnt played it,
DONT PLAY THIS GAME, DONT BUY THIS GAME, DONT DL THIS GAME. OR ANY MMORPG,
IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO DO GO OUTSIDE OR DO SOMETHING IN "RL"
insted of being the ***** of the non addicted world. I hope someone sues
the compony that made it, so all the poeoples acount will be deleted and
they will realize that they wasted there lives away. |

WoW, although simply a fun little diversion for some people, is far too
commonly taking over peoples lives - so many friends have fallen to the
scourge which is WoW, now they never come out, do anything, talk about
anything, or even play other games. It's all WoW WoW WoW. If nothing
else WoW; and several other MMOs, should get some sort of warning placed on
them, or have some sort of usage limitation placed on them by the
government - just like *gasp* the Chinese government have the sense to do!
Sure a 600 signature petition may not make this or anything happen, but
maybe it'll indicate the problems of WoW to someone, and prevent them
from becoming like the huge proportion of addicted WoW players. |
