i do not in the least bit support this petition because pitbulls can be the sweetest dogs. if you actually pay attention to this article and read it with a clear mind without your mind set on yes or no, dont pay attention to the feelings of the people and be swayed by that if you pay attention to that you will see that that man should be charged with murder instead of the pitbulls being killed. he should have not been so lazy and went out and chained up those dogs to whatever he was going to chain them to. If they were outside dogs all their life and apparently the only time they saw the boy was when he fed them once they may not have remembered him because dogs have good memory but its about as good as a seven year olds. those dogs may have thought he was a stranger and the if those pit bulls had have been introduced to the boy when they were little they could have grown up with him and they could have loved each other and the whole breed of pit bull should not have to suffer because of what a few dogs did and the ones that are trained to fight its not even their fault they are often beaten and abused and severly underfed so they will hate everything and attack the dog possibly just for a meal and then when they are caught they get killed and the person that trained them to be that way only gets 1 or two months in jail that isnt fair at all. and if you have a huge dog that you dont want near your little children you should keep them away from them its not like there was anything stopping that man from chaining the dogs to a tree or even to the back of their mobile home just for the night and he could find something to do in the morning. my friend had a pitbull once and she had a tiny infant and one day not due to any degree of bad parenting her baby got out into the street and was headed toward the highway. and you know what that little sweetheart pitbull did?.....he went right out in there and picked the baby up ever so gently by the diaper and carried it back int

Monday, November 06, 2006 BAMBERG– A one-year-old boy died after he was mauled by four pit bulls in his home Saturday night, Bamberg County Sheriff Ed Darnell said Sunday. Allen L. Young of 910 Sweetpea Road, Bamberg, died following the attack that occurred just after 10 p.m. Authorities believe the child died of multiple traumas to the head and body. The victim’s father 25-year-old Michael Anton Young Jr., told deputies he had just moved in the mobile home where the incident occurred Saturday afternoon, according to a Sheriff’s Office incident report. He said he put the child in bed around 10 p.m. before stepping outside the home to talk to his boss, who is also his landlord. Michael Young said when he re-entered the home, everything was quiet, and he saw a few of the dogs exiting the bedroom. Young said he then saw his son on the kitchen floor, bleeding. He and his boss transported the boy to Bamberg County Hospital, where Allen Young was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland’s trauma center anddied just hours after the attack. Allen Young’s body was sent to Newberry onSunday for an autopsy. Michael Young told deputies the dogs were hitched outside at his mother’s house, where he last lived, and he was planning to hitch them outside his home the following day. He said his mother told him the dogs had to go with him when he moved, according to the report. “He wanted toleave them until Monday,” Darnell said, when Michael Young said he would have time to chainthem outside. But Darnell said by the time he was finished moving Saturday, Michael Young chose to keep the dogs in the house until the next day, according to his statements to authorities. The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control was contacted following the attack, and the dogs were euthanized by a Bamberg veterinarian before their heads were sent to DHEC for rabies testing.
