The BCS is horrible. A 16 or 32 team playoff would be good. Even more would still be good because there are already like twenty something bowl games. The BCS gives many teams the shaft like Boise State and Auburn a few years back when they were undefeated in the SEC, which is a hard feat. Playoffs would be awesome
I think it is unfair that smaller schools in the MAC and other smaller conferences don't get a chance at the NCAA championship, even if they win the conference. Set up playoffs with conference champs.
Boise State played the most incredible game I have ever seen, giving glory and honor to the great sport of football. The deserve to fight to be the champs. But that won't happen because of this bowl system so I say save the next Cinderella team and make it a playoff system!
There is no possible argument that makes sense for KEEPING the BCS. A high ranking NCAA official claims: "We are already making money off the current system". I say: HEY IDIOT, think of how much MORE money you would make (especially in increased television revenue, leading to larger contracts with FOX/ABC) with a playoff system! I could write a 50 page thesis on why the BCS blows, so I'll stop here.
Time to wake up. Voting for a champion is ridiculous. Play it on the field like big boys. Could you imagine the money to be made with a 16 team playoff. December Delirium Indeed!
BCS is by far the most unjust system in all sports. Most compare it to figureskating byt at least in skating humans pick the winner and pretty much any skater has a chance to win. Not in the BCS. BCS makes major college football worse than figure skating. That's pitiful.
I think a 24 team play-off would make college football more exciting and draw more interest than college basketball's march madness i mean they spread the bowl games out over the month of December anyways why not have it be a top 24 having the bottom 16 play 2 weeks after the last week of the season with the top 8 getting a bye week the the winners from that are seeded according it would be over in 1 month after the college football season is over and you could still have the national championship new years weekend i think a system like that would work better and also all colleges should finish they seasons on the same week end not 3 weeks apart thanks and i hope something along these lines gets done
The BCS is BS. Being a die-hard Michigan fan, they got screwed over just because their schedule ended early. The system is incredibly flawed. It's ridiculous that there aren't playoffs. Div. 1-AA and 1-AAA have playoffs so I don't see how playoffs could not work for Div. I-A.
The BCS is just a scapegoat and an easy way out of any argument the "talking heads" and so called experts get into.. they just blame it on the BCS... well lets get rid of it and have a real Champion that earns there way into the title game and not have some computer decide..
I don't even like Boise State, but they went 12-0 this year!!!! and aren't even given a chance at the national title, Do the right thing, Create a Playoff system that will Make the Bowl games EVEN MORE IMPORTANT and an Undisputed National Champion Possible.
the bcs system is absolutly awful. there is no way michigan should have been taken out of 2nd place when they did nothing to deserve a fall in the rankings. system has needed to be replaced for some time, and this is the last straw.
the bcs is ridiculous. this year michigan should have totally been in the title game, but the damn bcs kept them out and and now were missin a great rematch with ohio st.
Champions are decided on the field by the players and coaches, not by some computer sitting on a desk somewhere or by some Joe Blow who just wants to see his team play in the championship
The BCS is a load of horses**t! Who ends up playing in the national championship game? The best two teams on paper and in the eyes of voters, not the actual top two teams in the country.
I like the 16 team seeded format for a playoff and retaining all bowls. Worthy teams to play in existing bowls not included in playoff. Playoffs made up of 11 Div I conference champs and five at large. Makes all conference games critical to get automatic berth.
I think that the top 8 teams or so...not much more than that because football is not like bball and more injuries would happen. And give the top 2 ranked teams a bye as incentive to finish 1 or 2. And so we can keep the bowls make the playoff games bowl games so that not just on city enjotys playoff games. Cuz a bowl game isnt really that much to play for
if u think about it it would also give the one loss teams and even the undefeateds who arent the greatest like boise state and it would also give teams like notre dame who dont even have a conference a shot at a title...im not sayin all 195 freagin teams in college football...just the top 25 or so
give it a shot
I found this petition at College.RealFootball365.c om forum. Bring on a playoff system, it makes too much sense. Don't listen to the crap about games wouldn't matter until the playoffs. All 12 regular season games would matter to teams wanting to reach the postseason.
