Robert “Bobby” Parker Jameson is a writer, composer, and performer who rose to public attention in the early 1960’s. Throughout his recording career, Jameson has been subjected to the injustices, inequities, and consequent hardships associated with the music “business.” Foremost among them, was having the rights to his music and his recordings sold, packaged, and distributed by several industry labels without permission or proper compensation.

In 2002, Revola Records released the "Songs of Protest," an album originally written and recorded by Jameson under the pseudonym Chris Lucey and released in 1965 by Surrey records. Revola Records executive Joe Foster leased the rights to the album from Ace Records, who claims they acquired Jameson’s music in a deal arranged by Betty Chiapetta, a partner in Mira/Surrey records.

Jameson never signed over the rights to his music to Mira/Surrey, Ace, or Revola record companies. In short, the deal between Ace records and Chiapetta was illegal, which in turn made the lease of the "Songs of Protest" album to Revola illegal.

Jameson has informed both Ace and Revola Record companies of the illegal nature of the agreement with Chiapetta. Despite this fact, both Ace records and Revola refuse to acknowledge Jameson’s ownership of the work. Moreover, Ace intends on re-releasing the album, continuing to abuse Jameson’s status as the rightful owner. Bobby has been fighting since 2002 to have his rights as the writer, composer, and performer(rights he never relinquished) recognized and has sought fair compensation for the "Songs of Protest" album.

We are collecting signatures in support of Bobby Jameson’s cause outlined below:

1. We are petitioning Ace, Revola, and Pelgari (a Chiapetta interest) to recognize Bobby Jameson’s rights to his work (rights Jameson did not relinquish) and give him due compensation him for the sales of his album.

2. We are sending a message to inform Revola, Ace, and Peglari Publishing that we as consumers, artists, and fans do not approve of the re-appropriation and distribution of any recorded material released without the explicit permission and just compensation of the artist(s) involved.

3. We offer Ace and Revola the opportunity to set a new industry standard in which just and honest dealings are the norm. Pay Jameson what you owe him.
