Petition to Boycott the Nintendo Wii Petition(s)
Published April 28, 2006
The negative reactions from the Nintendo fan community about the Revolution's new name are getting to be ri-goddamn-diculous. It's a weird name at first, yea, but everything new is weird at first. Nintendo Wii symbolizes a great deal.

The Nintendo Wii as a system is meant to be a departure from everything gamers are used to. The Nintendo Wii as a name solidifies that fact and drives Nintendo's point home. Xbox 360 is an extension of the Xbox. PS3 is the third PlayStation. Both walk on beaten paths. Nintendo Wii represents uncharted waters.

Now, some fan-people have made petitions for Nintendo to change the name. Petitions! Are they that naiive? I suppose they are, so here's my counter petition for their petitions.

Sign this if you like the Wii or just hate the fact that some people are simple-minded enough to think Nintendo will actually rename their console based on a petition. If you dislike it, that's cool, as long as your reasons aren't baseless.

The marketing will be handled fine, i'm sure. I mean, that whole "Touching is Good" thing for the DS worked out well, didn't it?
