Brandon Routh For Nolan's Superman
Published August 5, 2010
In 2006, Superman Returns came out to favorable reviews (76% at Rotten Tomatoes), and a decent haul at the Box Office ($394 million, worldwide- #129 all-time highest grossing films). For various reasons, though, Warner Bros opted not to make a sequel. This isn't a petition supporting a sequel, because that window has closed.
This is a petition aimed at getting Brandon Routh onboard to play Superman in the new film that Warner Bros is producing, with Chris Nolan producing, set for a 2012 release. Say what you will about the film, Brandon Routh did a great job- with huge boots to fill. He deserves a another chance, and he has vocally campaigned to keep the role. At a time in Hollywood, when many actors have turned the role down because they're scared of being "typecast," Routh has stated that he truly loves the character and would love to play him again. In a recent interview, conducted on 7/27/2010, the interviewer mentioned the recent online support of him to return in the role. Routh responded by saying that he hopes that we, as fans, "turn the current wave of support into a tsunami." My goal is to get as many names on this petition as possible, and then getting it to the attention of Warner Bros and DC Films. Remember, folks, similar online campaigns have helped bring back TV shows- and have even gotten parts for actors, like Joe Manganiello on "True Blood."
Let's create the tsunami. The fans deserve a voice.
