We petition the Iredell County Commissioners to follow through on their promise to immediately reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow on Brawley School Road, Mooresville, NC by all available means.

"Normally you don't like to regulate things, but this is a pretty extreme situation." said Iredell Commissioner Steve Johnson. "It's terrible down there. Traffic has gotten so bad along the road it's affecting public safety," said Johnson. (Charlotte Observer by K. Thier, April 30, 2006)

This petition will be submitted to the Iredell County Commissioners by the Iredell County Growth Commission February, 2007. Thank you for your support of this petition.

What you fail to understand is that more than 4/5 of you dumb bastards that are complaining are the root of the problem. Go back to NY, CA or wherever the phuck you came from. I grew up on Brawley School Road and I love Lake Norman. I left and will NEVER come back because of the type of people that supplanted the native, honest folks that were forced to move. What was once one of the best places in the world to live and raise kids has been POISONED. Think about this as you sit in line to get in traffic tomorrow. I hope your car overheats.

The planning and roads department are idiots. I've never lived in an area of the country that has things so backwards. The excuses are a dime a dozen and little gets done.....unless your a developer.

I have been considering Moorseville as a new place to reside - but now that I have seen the land use policies and planning or lack there of - I am considering relocating elseware. The city should consider the long term implications of their policies (i.e. property values) and not the earning of a quick dollar today.

Not only does this road need to widened, but a hard look needs to be taken at the direction of growth in the Town of Mooresville, NC (Williamson Rd., Hwy 150, and Hwy 21) and see that those widening projects begin shortly thereafter.

The Planning Commissioner Should be fired!! , and Person who recklessly issues the Building permits is ether getting paid under the table or stupid! Ether way he has to Go!!!!! We need to impeach them both and put an immediate moratorium on building in this area. I have read where emergency services was unable to properly arrive at the scene, and a young lad had to be airlifted to the hospital!. Both the Planning commissioner and Building permit office should be held responsible and in the long run they are costing us all more by there incompetence. Every year that they delay widening Brawley school rd it cost more to do. The ass backwards “DUMB Hicks “in office should have widened the road before they built the POINT,HARBOR,FARMS

When I built here in 2001, we were told that the road would be widened in 2006. Now it's been moved out to 2008.

This situation needs immediate, short-term, remediation as well as a comprehensive, long-term strategy to manage the growth and resulting traffic flow
