Even with main characters shoving off in the movie.. the plot and characters, the depth of the Firefly universe could easily be revived as a TV series. Add a few new faces, slowly of course. And watch the Browncoats expand.
With the end of the Star Trek and Stargate SG-1 television franchises, there is a dearth of quality new scifi programming available today. Reviving the Firefly franchise would readily fill this gap, drawing the large abandonned viewership from these other shows in addition to the loyal, pre-existing fan base of the Firefly television show.
FOX really screwed up! They didn't even give this show a chance and didn't even show it ½ the time due to Michael Jackson specials... It's a well thought out show and it needs more face time!
Firefly had some of the most remarkable language of any television series I've seen. I'm not just talking about the use of Chinese as a reservoir of curse-words, but the mix of old-west style of speech was captivating.
Please bring this great show back. So many people have become addicted to it, since the dvd & Serenity releases. The characters are original and easy to relate to. There is so much more that could be done with the storylines. I'm sure if it were brought back now, it would have such a big & newer following. A lot of the shows now are kind of boring. This show at least is original. Give us one more chance to prove this show is the only show to watch!
I love Firefly its a most unique Sci Fi series and has good cast and stories, if they had put it on at a decent time it would have been a hit please bring it back !!
I was unable to see most of the original airings due to other commitments, but i now have the series on DVD as well as the movie, and i went to see the movie at the theater. This was the best show i have seen for years on television and could not understand why it was cancelled. If it is picked up by any premium channel i will most definately subscribe. I Love this show.
Probably the 2nd best show ever made, it blows my mind that Fox canceled this show! Another network should really consider this show. it would bring in a lot of ratings.
I never saw the show when it was on the air, due to Basic Training, but when a friend in New Mexico loaned me his DVDs of the series & of Serenity, I fell in love with that show. I have traveled frequently since coming to Germany, and I have actually met people in pubs in Cologne, Germany & London, England (for example) that were talking about the show. Please bring it back. It obviously has worldwide appeal & fans.
I myself have gotten AT LEAST ten people hooked on Firefly during this past year. At least five of those people has gone on to purchase their own copy of the series (those who haven't all live with someone who did). Firefly is one of the greatest shows ever on televsion. Please someone bring it back!
I have watched Serenity & the Firefly box set several dozen times and would pay almost any subscription rate for Firefly's return to production with original cast (pretend Wash and Shepard Book never died!).
I got the box set for xmas and both my gal an I were hooked! Only to be crushed later when we learned there were no more episodes. Bring back firefly, it was the best thing about this xmas.
Firefly was absolutely one of the most unique, innovative, and extraordinary shows created. It's a shame Fox didn't realize the gem they had and ended it prematurely.
I have only recently discovered this series after a friend of mine pointed it out. After watching the entire first series I said to him, "wow, this is great! I gotta find the rest, how long did it go on for?" and he gave me the bad news.
I have to say I was shocked. After seeing much much worse sci-fi series go on much much longer, I was looking forward to seeing where Joss would take this show.
I cannot believe it was axed, Fox execs need their heads checked.
Please bring it back.
