I support this petition. More than half of the reason we subscribe to satellite radio is now GONE. (the other portion being sports, which I ONLY use if I'm on a long drive on a Sunday during football season, pretty much) Can I pay half the subscription fee? No. So don't give me half of what I subscribe for.
I support this petition. I am a 39 year-old female in Colorado. We have terrible radio stations here, and fungus 53 was the only bright light. Please bring it back and let aging punk-rockers relish in the joy that is fungus.
I support this petition. I am putting serious thought into canceling my XM because Fungus was one of the main reasons I got it in the first place. When you live in the middle of Iowa there are no good punk/ska/hardcore channels. If you want to give AC/DC a channel why not get rid of one of the 8 country stations, 8 pop stations, 14 news stations, 18 talk stations or 44 sports stations? With all of the stations that are repeats of each other why get rid of one of your few original channels?
I support this petition... and am (strongly) considering letting my xm subscription lapse if a punk/ska/rockabilly channel is not included in the lineup.
I support this petition. The theory behind the contested merger with Sirius was that allowing it to go forward would ensure continued greater choices for listeners. This is a breach of that promise -- it would replace a true alternative radio station (not available on commercial radio) with one devoted to a single band that has plenty of (in my view, unwarranted) exposure. I trust you will reconsider -- if not, I will express my views to the FCC and Congress.
Fungus 53 is one of my favorite channels on XM. It doesn't make sense to get rid of it. The other channels do play SOME of the things that are on Fungus, but nowhere near the variety that I've come to love from Fungus. BRING BACK FUNGUS!!!
Fungus 53 was one of the top reasons that I purchased XM and it kept me from joining Sirius in the past. I enjoyed Fungus while in my office and on the road. The radio does not play Punk and I'm sick of my CD's. I now bring my IPod to work. Terrestrial radio does not support Punk and now, I guess, satellite does not either. Give your customers what they want....this is the advantage of satellite. I will still subscribe, but I have to change channels more often. No thank you,
Abraham M.
An unhappy customer.
I've been an XM subscriber for many years. (I remember when Special X was on the air) I own two receivers and have referred a half dozen or so other listeners. The first preset on both my radios is Fungus 53. I was listening to it when AC/DC Radio started. At the time I thought it was temporary, but every day I switch to Fungus and AC/DC is still on. No band in the world (not the Beatles, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead or Metallica) is good enough to listen to all day long. Enough with AC/DC Radio. Bring back Fungus. That's the kind of programming that makes people like me pay to listen to the radio. Clearly XM still don't understand their own audience. The airwaves are full of popular music. That's easy to find in any city. It's the unpopular music that people will pay to hear. And without commercials, of course. If Fungus stays off the air, I will be turning off one of my receivers. If XMU and The Verge go away too, I'll turn them both off and go back to buying CDs to feed my iPod.
Fungus was the only reason I listened to XM. Not only should they bring it back but expand it and make shows like HHH and CUA into their own channels dammit!
I support this petition. I have already sent an email to the Zellner clown. Didnt do much good..got a form letter email in response. XM is not listenable now
I support this petition. I like AC/DC as much as the next guy, but an entire channel is just crazy. A channel devoted to punk on the other hand is awesome- I can't imagine it's because it's too off-beat either; you guys have 2 heavy metal channels.
I support this petition.
Punk rock is my life and to strip it away from the radio is un-fair. There are virtually no FM stations that play any form of punk rock. Please bring it back!
I support this petition. I have a hard time believing that Fungus was less popular than say, "spanish oldies from the 60's to the 80's" (channel 93), that they could have equally gotten rid of. Regardless, Fungus epitomized the reason why people are paying to listen to the radio: no commercials, variety, diversity. AC/DC 24/7 (or any band 24/7) is 1 for 3. Come january 16th, if fungus isn't back, I will likely give up on XM after 6 years of listening. I was around when Fungus started, and I don't want to see it end!!!
I support this petition. Earlier in 2008 I had a rental car with XM radio. We listened to nothing but Fungus for 2 weeks straight. Recently I purchased a new vehicle with 3 months of XM free. To my dismay, 53 is now AC/DC 24/7. Don't get me wrong, I like AC/DC. Just not all the time. If this channel does not return, I don't feel there are any other channels I am interested in enough to continue my XM subscription.
I support this petition. I have to listen to country, rap, rock, and all kinds of other shit all day long, and when I get off work, all I want is FUNGUS!!!! Bring it BACK!
This is ridiculous! I listened to Fungus every day, and loved every minute of it. It introduced so many artists, both new and old. If Fungus doesn't come back, neither will I....
How many country stations are there ? Hip hop, 80's and other genres all have more than one channel. We need our punk, ska, psychobilly, surf and other fantastic original music ! Please reconsider your rash decision !
