I think the whole new format will send the show to a firey death. Grant made the show what it is today, and I hate to think that it's never going to be what it used to be. Grant had just the right amount of rapport with the contestants, and always kept it mysterious and unpredictable. Bring him home! :( Don't get me started on the live process, meaning that they all get to hear what everybody else thinks of them, and therefore affecting how they play the game.
With Grant, the show focused heavily on the contestants. While he ran the tasks, the eliminations and provided the voiceover, Grant was very professional, ominous, yet non-obtrusive. Tom acts as if he’s on holidays and it’s his very own show. He does not suit The Mole. Sit up and listen Channel Seven
Grant's mannerism is what helped make the mole such an addictive and unpredictable show not to be missed. Now thanks to Tom Williams, The Mole is turning into a tacky pathetic show. WE WANT GRANT BACK!
Grant is cute, can speak intelligently, doesn't need to be buddies with the contestants, is cool, calm and collected with an air of mystery. Tom is naff, naff, naff. I'm only watching The Mole now to mock Tom and listen to his career go down the toilet. Thanks for ruining The Mole!
I didnt even find Grant sexy :) But the show has lost all credibility and charisma. even if this petition doesnt make 1000 signatures, the sheer fact that it exists should make some channel 7 execs listen. Just because your market research figures tell you that tom williams is man of the moment for a half hearted dancing gameshow doesnt mean he is adaptable to all your programs. stop trying to turn him into some Eddie McGuire for the seven network at the sacrifice of one of your best shows.
I really hope this petition makes it to the Exec's at Channel 7 and they stand up and listen! I'm not sure why Grant isn't hosting The Mole this year, but if he was offered the gig and turned it down then YOU DIDN'T OFFER HIM ENOUGH MONEY!!!! The Mole is the best show on TV and you've just slaughtered it by signing on Tom Williams as the host!! Gone is Grant's professionalism, gone is Grant's mystery and suspense, and gone is the sex on legs which is Grant Bowler! Tom has nothing on Grant, does nothing for me and fumbled his way through the first episode with so many mistakes. I was utterly dissappointed after watching it and I just know the ratings are going to plummet because of it. I'm sorry if Tom ever reads this... he probably is a really great guy... but he should stick to what he's good at. He's not the man for this job. I don't like Tom, Send him back to the great outdoors and bring back grant. Grant is the reason I watch the mole. Toms Live performance was cringeworthy. Seven good way to sink the Mole permanently. When will you learn if it isn't broken don't fix it.
Stick to the old way of things, its far more exciting. I dont like the profile thing while the contestants are speaking, very confussing to watch and listen at the same time, scrap that bit !!! and bring back Grant, the show would be far better. Dan
First of all thank you 7 for bringing back the mole, i am excited about its return, but Grant was a terrific host and it had an atmosphere of "suspense" when he hosted the show. I do like the old format of the show how it was presented, not too sure about the live eliminations, the contestants were all smiles not nervous like the previous series that gave it suspense. Grant is the Man !!!!
I miss Grant! He is a true professional and knows what he is doing. He adds an element of suspense to the show. Tom is just a pretty boy - he has no idea what he is doing; he stuffs up his lines and has such a dopey grin all the time. I will keep watching but I very much miss Grant. Love you Grant !!
Thatfirst episode with Tom has virtually killed my interest in the show...and I've never missed an episode previously. He seemed more concerned with looking good and being liked by the contestants than doind his job effectively.

Tom is reaaal purdy but he reminds me of a Farside cartoon I saw called Seven Moods of a Red Setter where the dog has the exact same over-excited expression in every caption. Tom just doesn't cut the mustard...mind you, if he lost the shirt, I might see things differently.... Grant created a sense of menace as the host because he's an actor, not a chippie. I loved the Mole - allegedly to an unhealthy degree. But this season is a travesty. Channel 7 upped the production values and lost the fun and uniqueness. Tom is about as mysterious as my gran's week old dirty undies. BRING BACK GRANT!!!!!
THIS IS A DISGRACE!! 'The Mole' was such a rarity on tv - and much of its appeal lay in its supreme host GRANT who had the unaffected, deadpan delivery of a true host-elite. How could channel 7 replace him with A CHEST???????????

The Mole is supposed to be a game of mystery and intrigue via the contestants, the format of the show and, most importantly, the host. Tom gives the impression (no matter if this is incorrect) that he does not 'get' the concept of the show. He looks as if he would like to be participating in the challenges rather than be a person on the sidelines. The role of the host is to create as much mystery as possible. Tom, unfortunately is about as intriguing as a Big Mac. You don't refer to the contestants as 'mates' - Tom is meant to be feared to a certain extent. Last night seemed the contestants were prompting Tom (i.e. Green means you will leave. huh?). I have just watched the first season of the U.S. Mole and that was brilliant too, the host in the same character as our Grant Bowler. It is pretty obvious in Australia that Tom was made host to capitalise on his ratings popularity. The Great Outdoors, yes, Room for Improvement, yes, Dancing with the Stars, yes, but The Mole? NO!

Grant is a fantastic host and I hope his absence from the show is because he turned down the series to move on to bigger and better things. Tom seems like a nice enough guy but I don't think he works as the host... Tommy, all the best mate but I think you're more of a 'presenter' than a host. The host of the mole is like a character in the show, and it takes a skilled actor like Grant to pull it off I think.
I just saw the 1st episode with host Tom Williams, and I cant believe how much he has buried the show. For gods sake he cant even get the colours green and red right. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE 7?? The only one SABOTAGING the game is Tom! Or at least the people who got rid of Bowler!! It's just not right. And I hate this new "live" format. I feel like i'm watching the reverse side of the 'sunrise with 7' studio!!!

Grant is sexy & sinister and just loves the sneaky & scarey parts of the Mole. You need a man for the Mole; not wimpy girlie voiced Tom (but I assume Grant had better things to do not vice versa).
Not surprising that Channel 7 have brought Tom Williams in, he's their "it boy" after all, but he's too much of a pansy to host a show like this. The Mole needs Grant to retain it's credibility and Channel 7 will find that out the hard way.
After spending the last 20 years producing TV in the states I can only comment that since comming to Oz the closest thing you have to Survivor down here in pure production quality is the mole and for the same reason you would never uproot Jeff Probst from Survivor, you would never take Grant Bowler from The Mole.
Having said that one thing I can tell you is that in TV there are plenty ofSand Castle destroyers. You have those who spend hours and hours of time creating art (the perfect sand castle) only to have some idiot come along and step on it "cause he don't understand it".
This petition is great but think for a moment of the mindset it would take to make this decision and you can imagine a big fat guy that just don't understand.
Goodbye to the mole and hopefully to the guy that made this decision so the next inovative show can have a few good seasons like the mole did before another idiot takes over the reins.

From the first episode of the first season we loved the mole because Grant made the show unique and mysterious. We won't be watching the series simply for the same reason we don't watch getaway - we don't like being yelled at by a loud mouth twit!
When we were working on Blue Heelers Grant was always there for me. When I couldn't remember my lines, he was there to prompt me. When I couldn't find the switch to turn off the siren, he was there to guide me. When John Wood brought out the doughnuts, he was there to help me with self control. Grant Bowler is a top bloke. Give him his job back.

The Mole is one of my favourite shows, and I'm over the moon to hear that there's another season - but Grant Bowler IS The Mole. It'd be like trying to have Home and Away without Kate Ritchie - it just wouldn't be the show we all love. Please, PLEASE consider bringing Grant back as the host.
