These shows need to be brought back - they are classics for my generation and are way better than the stupid shows for tweens and teens on Nick now. Bring back Welcome Freshmen, Salute Your Shorts, You Can't Do That On Television, Double Dare, GUTS, Are You Afraid of the Dark and Clarissa. They rock!!!
Nickelodeon, you used to have quality shows that I could watch all day--even now in college. Space Cases. Salute Your Shorts. Are You Afraid of the Dark. I remember the theme songs, characters and plot lines from each one. Do us a big favor and give us an outlet! It's important that this nostalgia doesn't stay tucked away forever. We need some mirror through which we can reminisce about the old days. Help us out!
Wow... I got into a really nostalgic mood whenever I decided to go searching for websites on my favorite old shows. I remembered Nick had the best shows I had ever watched as a child... I miss them. I loved "Weinerville" and "Roundhouse". SNICK was awesome. I actually looked foreward to Saturday nights just to watch it. I would love to have a whole day dedicated to Nickelodeon's old shows! As other people said, the quality of Nickelodeon's newer shows has been slipping. The only shows I enjoy on Nick now are "Hey Arnold" and "Danny Phantom". Even these shows just don't have the same, how to say, intellegent comedy and mindset of the newer shows. Please bring the older shows back for at least a day! It would be even better if Nickelodeon would get into the habit of doing it once a week. And whatever happened to Stick Stickley during the summer?
I would rush home after elem. school just to catch Stick Stickly and the great lineup of Doug and the often overlooked Aah Real Monsters. If you bring them back, we will watch them!
The programming that Nickelodeon has on today has not only very little educational value, but very little humor value as well. The shows that used to be in the line-up were a crucial instrument in social modeling as you could see humor and quality television programming without actually having to have those specific experiences yourself. The old shows assisted children in developing an individualism, personality, and sense of humor with taste rather than the "lovey-barney-sweetne ss" humor garbage that plays on the network today. Someone in the marketing and development department should be fired...in fact, you should start from scratch in a way and fire everyone with a position today, and re-contract the staff that was in Nickelodeon's employ when the older shows were on the air. Contribute to progression of the development of today's youth, do not stand in the way and/or cause it to regress. Thank you for your time.
I love those shows, I would definitley watch the old school shows if they were back on Nick or some other TV station. Nick could profit from having an additional audience of the old nick generation. We need to bring back the old "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" "Clarissa Explains It All", d"Doug", "Rocco's Modern Life", "Salute Your Shorts", "Welcome Freshman", and "You Can't Do That On Television." All of the game shows are on the GAS channel, why cant these shows be on too, or maybe on Nick at Night. Nickelodeon could try to have an oldies hour or something where they play some old shows and see how kids today like it and it would also bring our generation back to the channel to watch our favorite shows from childhood.

I want old Nickelodeon back. There are so many memories &there are actually people who are depressed because they can't watch it anymore. It would make so many people happy. Not just our generation, but generations of all kind. Old Nickelodeon was the original. Nothing compares to it. I also want Dinosaur's to come back too. But that wasn't Nickelodeon :/.
I loved the old shows! salute your shorts, afraid of the dark, hey dude, clarissa, and an old favorite welcome to weinerville! nick would actually be cool to watch if it had these shows! now the critics want educational shows and our gereration of watching these old favorits are pissed that nick has gone downhill. its a shame! bring the old shows back!!!
I agree; some of those shows I forgot about. I definitely agree that shows like "You do that on television, "Hey Dude", "Salute your shorts", Global gutz, and the older nick toons meant something. I watched those shows into my early teen years.
Praise the Lord for petitions online, especially when it comes to the old school Nickelodeon kid shows. Today's generations (maybe one or two back) don't know how these shows helped shape Nick into "The First Kids Network" back in those days. Examples of these timeless shows are You Can't Do That on Television, Salute Your Shorts, Welcome Freshmen, My Brother and Me, Taina, The Brothers Garcia, Dangermouse, Kenan & Kel, Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All, and The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Even of the networks' premiere brand NickToons like the original Doug (not the Disney version), Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold!, The Fairly Odd Parents, SpongeBob Squarepants and the first few seasons of Rugrats and Ren & Stimpy helped Nickelodeon rise to superstardom on the worldwide scale. Digital cable and satellite providers across the world created two other Nickelodeon-based channels-GAS! (which plays all of Nick's game shows) and NickToons TV (which plays all of the original NickToons that played on regular Nick. For all of the examples provided in this email petition, Nickelodeon should be able to find a way to bring back all of their original programs and cartoons and put them on some DVD box set formats. Rugrats All Grown Up and the rest of the other shows that they show (excluding Romeo! also) has made Nickelodeon hit rock bottom because that's all the shows that they will play day in and out. Hopefully, in our lifetime, Nickelodeon will consider and do bring back their old school shows on DVD box sets. Pray to the Lord for that prayer to happen in His timing. In conclusion, Nickelodeon has done terribly over the past ten years with their so-called "quality children's programming" and Cartoon Network is doing way better than Nickelodeon these days. I miss all those shows. They used to make me so happy and all the new shows aren't as good. Salute Your Shorts was the best. But then again I liked Alegra's Window too. What is our world coming to?!?! Spongebob is good. But think about the names, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Crabs. GREAT influence on kids today.
Salute your shorts was by far the greatest series to watch growing up. Kenan and kel and the rest of the all that people were hilarious. What would you do was a great show when the people got pied and stuff. Animorphs was good but nick all started goin down hill from that point.
bring it back, all of it..i downloaded some from the internet and watch the episodes..i also tried to get them from ebay..not too sure about its realness though
They need to put all of the old good shows on a dvd or something.. like picks the 5 best episodes from each old show and put them together ona dvd.. like Hey Dude, Clarissa, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Pete and Pete, Salute Your Shorts, etc.

If you only knew how many times I have had these conversations with some of my friends. I miss all of these old shows sooo bad. Especially Salute your Shorts, the old school ALL THAT, Clarissa Explains It All, Kenan and Kel, ARe you Afraid of the Dark, Legends of the Hidden Temple, ect... I can even remember down to specific episodes of Salute Your Shorts like "Zeke The Plumber"!!!! If Nickelodeon knows what is good for them, they will get these old but better shows on the air. The only thing I even watch on Nickelodeon any more is Spongebob. THat is the only thing they have going for them right now, so they need to get all these little teeny boppers like jamie lynn spears of the air and get back with the way things used to be when tv was actually worth watching!!!!!!!!!!
I agree completely with all of you. Nickelodeon used to be one of the channels. I'd always check itwhen I watched T.V. because I knew it would have something good on, but now, the shows are of very poor quality and just plain stupid. I haven't watched it in so long that I don't even know what channel it is anymore. Regular Nick and Teen Nick have become terrible. Regular Nick used to have shows like the muppet babies and Doug. Doug taught life lessons and could be related to by all ages. How can I possibly relate to the shows out now like Fairly odd parents. As for teen nick, it used to have the two best shows on television, All That and Kenan and Kel. You may say All That is still on, but if you've watched it you'd know it is terrible now. The old All That had Kenan and Kel, Amand Bynes, the star of Pete and Pete, and many other good skit people. The music was also always good. Now, their skits are terrible and their actors and actresses are even worse. I personally don't feel that if you are related to a star that means you are a star.(Jamie Spears). The music is far worse now and features no namers. Now, when I want to watch cartoons I turn on Cartoon Network and if Nick wanted me back they would need to bring back the old Nick, the funny nick, the best nick.

Heck yes! I loved all those old ones! I really liked watching are you afraid of the dark, but now they have all these retarded cartoons so I stopped watching.
They do have some of the classics on Nick GAS on Brighthouse...but man, I miss the old Doug shows...and Camp Onowana...and especially the old Nick Jr shows like Gumby...

I'm tired of all these crappy 'new' shows. It's like they are being produced overnight without any care to the audience at all. Once a kid gets past 5th grade these days, they quit watching Nick cause its so HORRIBLE. If the old shows came back, even some adults that watched the shows would watch.

I love Looney Toons and Tiny Toons.I know Looney Toons is on Cartoon network but i liked it on Nickelodeon.Tiny Toons were so funny i loved that show more than ever please do old nick. back on but keep the old episodes of Rugrats!
