We need to augment this dead-dinosaur fuel with solar. Oil just neds to be too rich, we can't give them too much money. Start working on solar-powered space heaters/air conditioners for all!

I urge everyone to stop buying gas! I also urge everyone to steal gas! Does that sound like a plan?

I have never seen seen so much corruption and greed as I have seen under this administration. This is taxation without representation and they let corporations do what they want at the expense of the american taxpayer. Americans must assemble together now and stop this corruption and remove these people from office from the top down.

I am a hot rodder with a small collection of cars, however what I pay at the pump, as extreme is it may be, is not the issue. While I can still afford to take my cars out for the weekend, the real problem is the elderly. Last winter thousands of elderly American citizens died because they could not afford the cost of rising heat bills that the increase in fuel has caused. Now, less than a year later, cost of fuel is hovering around $3.00 per gallon locally and is expected to go up to almost $4.00 very soon. With a quadruple fuel increase will come a drastic rise in elderly deaths this winter. And after all the snows have melted and the temps. rise, the summers heat will claim several more thousands too. Everybody will be effected by this nation's lack of leadership and control, from students, to hard working citizens, from families struggling to make ends meet to major companies who have to raise prices to outweigh the cost of shipping. When is this going to end? How many Americans will have to die?

Why is it the government can make on strike workers go back to work but can not make the oil companies drop oil prices???? Is it because they don't want to and are getting rich themselves???

I am a family farmer and am unable to pay these fuel prices, which are 3 times what they were last year. Oil prices rise but prices for my grains are the same as they were in the 1950's.

Profit Soars at Exxon Mobil Surging Oil Prices Lead to Company's Best Second Quarter By Joe Carroll Bloomberg News Friday, July 29, 2005; Page D02 Exxon Mobil Corp., the world's largest publicly traded oil company, said yesterday that second-quarter profit rose 32 percent, to $7.64 billion, as Asia and North America used more crude oil and gasoline. The quarterly profit was the third-highest in the company's history. Revenue climbed 25 percent, to $88.57 billion, Exxon said. A doubling of oil prices since 2003 has put the Irving, Tex.-based company on a pace to surpass Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this year as the largest U.S. company by total revenue.
