Mr Prime Minister, Be the 'hero' you always wanted to be in the eyes of the country by actually doing something for an Australian citizen in alot of trouble. Use your better judgement and think about his situation for a second. You went into East Timor because you felt like that was the right hing. It made you look very good in the eyes of the world, and really pissed off the Indonesians.. Here is a girl that is obviously innocent and being a patsy to maintain their thin veneer of respectability amidst wholesale corruption, Do something for Christ's sake man. Start an investigation at home to find the real criminals and do whatever and i mean 'whatever' it takes to get her home... this is a matter of honour to our people and to yourself...
I urge all tourists to boycot Indonesia. Travel to that country is just not worth it. First the terrorism of the bombing - then the natural disaster of the tsunami - now the injustice that has befallen this young woman.
After handing down minor sentences to the Bali Bombers, one would have thought that the Indonesian courts would take into account the time Schapelle has already spent in prison and sent her home as the importation of drugs (Guiltily or not) into any country does not warrant sentences of this magnitude.
The Australian Government thought our relationship with Indonesia has been stretched in the past. After this fiasco, the response from the Australian people is going to destroy any relationship we had.
Due to the doubt that surrounded this case, the Australian Government should have had a great deal more involvement from the start.
Also, I do not blame the Indonesian people for what has happened, but I can assure you that I will never again put my hand in my pocket to help them when they are in need.
The Australians made up a great portion of tourists that visited Bali, before and after the bombings. The traders of Bali that relied on our tourist’s money will only have their government to blame for what I am sure will be a dramatic decline in the future.
I as an Australian tax payer, forbid the Australian Government to offer any financial support to the Indonesian Government on my behalf. Your Government will regret the lack of interest you have had in this case when you go to the polls next. I for one will not be voting for a Government that does not look after one of its own.

Schapelle, i feel so terribly sad and sorry for you, i knew in my heart that you would be found guilty way before today, as it was obvious that you were being treated as Guilty and having to prove that you are innocent. But of course, there was no way that you could prove your innocence as they had already made up their mind right from the start that you were guilty, nevermind whether you had evidence to prove your innocence or not. I have never been to Bali and would very much have liked to, but now there is no way on God's green earth that i would go to any part of Indonesia whatsoever. The danger of getting in to trouble even if you had nothing to do with it is too great. I pose that all us aussies steer clear of indonesia until Schapelle is sent home. Schapelle, take heart, don't despair, us Aussies are behind you 1000%, we won't rest till you are home with us. The trial most certainly not just for the sheer fact that not one of the accused of the chief judge's cases has been acquited, what sort of justice is that? Surely at least 1 out of 500 people has to be innocent. I think this judge was just trying to keep to his sicko statistics of making them all guilty no matter what. How can that be justice ???? Howard should be getting off his bum and doing something about this. Better yet, how do they explain Schapelle getting 4 kg of drugs through the security measures placed at QLD airport?? That does not make sense at all !!!

We understand she is currently in Indonesian and therefore under the laws of another country but some arrangement MUST be reached with the Indonesian government that ensures Schapelle is bought home as soon as is humanly possible. We know that this is possible.
Therefore it is with the utmost urgency we insist you take action on our behalf and bring Schapelle Corby home to Australia immediately.

I do not understand how Schapelle could be held for all this time and then to be found guilty on the evidence they had. Shame on the legal system over there & shame on John howard if it was one of his kids, you can bet your life they would be home right now, he would have fought hard & dont everything possible. As a 16 year old I am certainly convinced Shapelle did not commit any sort of crime. She should have been sent back to Australia and be punished under Australian laws even though she did nothing wrong. That 4kg of marijuana was placed in her bag and she was the one to blame! Those Balinese judges let alone police didnt even fingerprint the bag! Honestly, that isnt a fair trial! This is nonscence and Shapelle should be sent home! I am very unhappy at her sentence of 20 years and Australia will now be very rebellious. We have followed Shappelle all the way and are now watching her in pain. My heart goes out to Shapelle and the Shapelle family.

This verdict is a total travesty of justice. All Australians should be appalled by what has happened here. What ever happened to the concept of " A fair go " It seems not to apply to this countrys laws.
This is a travesty. One only has to mention the 2 years for the Bali bomber mastermind that killed hundreds and compare it to 20 years for a bit of dope even if she is guilty. Since the 1960's, Bali has been known as the place to go for prostitution, pedophilia and drugs. What else can I do? I will actively support 1. deportation of illegal immigrants 2. cessation of all forms of support to Indonesia ie. tsunami relief, earthquake relief, etc. 3. campaign to prevent Indonesian students from studying in Australia 4. and will not purchase or use any Indonesian product or company 5. any action to sink Indonesian fishing vessels in Australian waters. 6.cancelled trips to Bali, both mine and my children and their families (up to 18 cancelled Bali trips already) and will work to dissuade anyone from holidaying in Bali and/or Indonesia. 7. and work to stop any Indonesian immigration. I will use whatever legal means I can to cause as much damage to the Indonesian economy as possible.

I have been to Bali 5 times and I was planning another trip again this year. After this unfair trial I will never go back to that place. Schappelle is being punished for something she didnt do.

HOW can a judge who claims to never acquit anyone claim to be just? HOW can Indonesia claim they have allowed Schapelle a fair trial under a judge who doesn't acquit regardless of evidence! THAT in itself is the purest indication that she HAS NOT received a fair trail. I support a boycott of ALL of Indonesia - why would I go or let my children go to such an unjust place where this could happen to ANYONE travellling there and they would be treated the same. the govt has failed to protect one of it's citizen's. in a court of law in Aust, the matter would have been aquitted based on contaminated evidence- lack of finger prints, procedure of weighing not adhered to by Aust airlines. When would Aust court beleive a Govt official (ie customs officer) above and beyond all else. It is simply hearsay vrs hearsay - but obviously the indonesian courts follow a very different and CORRUPT process.....
I believe strongly that Shapelle is innocent. However, even if she is not she should not have received 20 years if the Bali Bombers only received 3 years. Something's seriously wrong!

How can a crime such as this promote 20yrs of someones life and other crimes only be committed to less than that - real crimes like rapists and murderers. You as a governement must do something to help - send fingerprint specialist send investigators and do your own interviews with the customs officers - Do all that you can possibly do - and reward by freeing an innoncent person. Why would someone accept ownership to a boggie board if there was marjuana in there and the consequences of death by firing squad. i have been busted with more dope than that and received 12 months community work this sentence is miles to high she has done more time than she would get here in sa you would get a $150 fine for that amount and that would be on a bad day the people of australia should boycott indonesia if all else fails bust her out , boycott the place
The Australian Government are culpable in this case as they know that there are baggage handlers who are guilty of sending drugs in luggage. For Mr Howard to say that we have to respect the Indonesian law (which is a complete farce) is absolutely ludicrous. If we are to honour other countries' laws why did we invade Iraq or free Easty Timor from the tyranny of Indonesia. Having sat on a jury concerning the possesion of drugs, if Schapelle had been tried under our system she would have been found not guilty. I feel sick to the stomach of how this poor girl has been treated and there but for the Grace of God go any of us, who travel overseas. We all could be in this same position.
