WHAT IS THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!? ONE OF OUR CITIZENS IS LOCKED UP WITHOUT ANY REAL EVIDENCE, AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO SIT ON OUR ARSES AND WATCH IT!?!?!? I DONT THINK SO! COME ON HOWARD, STOP BEING AN ASSHOLE LIKE USUAL AND LISTEN TO OUR VOICES AND HELP SCHAPELLE!!! SHE DESERVES TO BE FREE MORE THAN YOU EFFING DESERVE TO BE PRIME MINISTER
I want to know what the Aus. Gov. is doing to address that which it can. Will cameras be installed in baggage handling areas at all Aus. airports now? Will all Baggage weights be computer filed at checkin? or are the polis going to wish this to be forgotten?
This verdict is an outrage. Let’s hope that Australia can provide an all powerful legal team to assist in the appeal. I will be boycotting Bali. My thoughts and hope to you all. Please remain strong and positive. Australian government: shame on you.
This is so wrong, I can't believe your government won't act more in her behalf. What a joke. At least she was spared the death sentance. Now what are you going to do for her? It better be something and very, very soon.
You don't get 20 years in Australia for murder, the sentence is totally unaceptable. All australians should boycott bali, without the Australian tourism they will lose out bigtime.I will never go to Bali or support there country in anything now
Deep down, I know the Prime Minister and the rest of the Australian Government beleive that she is innocent. Put politics aside for a moment and get her out.
Downer you spieless prick get of your fat arse & do something. Stop our aid imediatly,Boycott Travel & Trade. Maybe all Indonesians arnt to blame but if there judicial system cant give people a fair trial maybe they need to do something about it.
Ok Mr Prime Minister, Its not to hard being a leader when things are going right. Well, things are not right for one of our citizens in Bali. Lets see if you have the backbone to be our leader. Bring this girl home and prove to these people we are not the wimps they think we are.
I believe whole heartedly in Shapelle's innocence, but even if you don't, you can't deny the fact that she belongs at home and not in Indonesia, plese bring her home!
Being from the US, I thought I had seen too many outrageous miscarriages of justice to ever again feel outraged by the actions of some idiot judge.
Boy, was I wrong. This country punishes a mass murderer with 3 years in prison, yet a productive young woman who was likely innocent dupe in a drug case gets 20 years?
Barbaric, disgusting, and utterly outrageous.
Boycott Indonesia. Their ruling class are nothing more than ungrateful parasites.
This must be looked into and get your attention now! Her punishment is way over what is normal and it is up to us to take care of our people who visit these places.
as australians we need to stand together and fight for schappelle inosents . this is not right when they have little evidence. this could happen to anyone and i know there is no way ill be travelling to indo.the poor girl has been set up why can they not see this as a posibility. the country is curupt and there is no justise.
After all the help Australia has given to Indonesia in there times of trouble and loss this is how they repay Thanks for Nothing BRING SCHAPELLE HOME AND BOYCOTT BALI!!!
This is a joke, two years for a bomber and 20 for a young women who never did it.
I sent my letter to the white house,us Americans will stand with the mates who stand with us.
We too will Boycot Bali and any of there goods, her treatment in court is nothing but a kangaroo court.
We have asked Bush to help out, there are many Australians who live in the USA and seen this on TV,all are in shock.
John the PM, Dont let the Indo walk over you, stand up and do your job, bring home that young lady.
The USA are thinking of you Schapelle, stay strong, the battle has started
20 years of prission is a dramatic error of any judicial system; anything to solve this must be DONE without any doubt. she must retur to her home as soon as posible. my prayers at night will have her in mind.
for gods sake aussies, help her.govts too weak.what about the money we gave to the tsaumi.give it bak bali. i will never go to bali and travel agents should not book tickets for there. c, mon aussies stik together.
Indonesia has just committed economic suicide.
In the wake of the recent Tsunami, the world said 'that country, as a freind, is in need of our help'; now the world sees Indonesia as a corrupt, tin pot mess that no one in their right mind would risk travelling to.
Why didnt the investigators work with Australian authotiies to verify her claims?
If the Australian authorities HAD been involved, the government wouldnt be offering their own legal team to the Defense following a conviction.
My sympathy to the PEOPLE of Indonesia (along with Schapelle) - just as you need us most, your authorities sens us the message 'Indonesia is without mercy, legality or common sense'.
Goodbye, Indonesia.
I watched this case with interest as how can a verdict be reached when evidence is so weak and it is not decided by jury of peers. I am not saying that the judges were not unbiased but I am concerned that they may have had undue pressure exerted on them.
This is an frigging outrage. The decision alone is sickenening enough, but the gutless, spineless, heartless attitude of our government is just disgraceful.
The sentence is an absolute outrage. If this sentence is not overturned, I will never again donate as I did in the aftermath of Tsunamis to the people of Indonesia. I will encourage all my friends and business associates to cease traveling to Indonesia and to boycott Indonesian goods. I know that the vast majority of my fellow Americans are equally outraged by this injustice and that all who are will be sure to factor in the barbaric, primitive criminal justice system of Indonesia when considering travel to that country.
I am a backpacker myself and I have travelleled to Columbia wich has strict drug rules, but I will never travel to Indonesia! 20 years is redicules!Eevn if she is guilty. It is a banana republic. Tore, Norway.
Australians should join together and delete Bali from their travel agenda. We cannot support archaic laws any longer.
BOYCOTT BALI
CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA MUST STOP HOLIDAYING IN BALI
After following this case with intense interest and always commenting that Schapelle was innocent I was utterly dismayed and stunned by the verdict.
If you sit down and take all the inaccuracies into consideration from the airport arrival to the court case it is no wonder that this young lady stood no chance.
Schapelle, my wife pam & I are behind you 100% and will support any moves to help with your appeal and to return home.
I know it is hard to say but keep your chin up and keep smiling.
Barry & Pam
Australians should join together and delete Bali from their travel agenda. We cannot support archaic laws any longer.
BOYCOTT BALI
CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA MUST STOP HOLIDAYING IN BALI
Hang in there Schapelle,Howard, grab Bush and go and get that girl out of that hell hole what ever way is needed.....im sure he owes you a favour or two....you get a couple of years for murdering heaps of people and 20 years for pot....shit you judges are nothing but corupt guttless wonders...i hope you rot in hell
Dear John Howard,
I'm an Indonesian student in Australia,i feel sorry about Schapelle Corby, i believe that she is innocent, and i think many Australian believe that she is innocent, could you give her support?
What I saw on tv of the verdict is the most unfair and unjust thing I have seen in my whole life this is worse then a movie it showed her face the whole time this is not actors acting this is the real thing I DONT THINK FOR A MINUTE THAT SHE IS GUILTY she is innocent as innocent can be either just indonesians have no brains or they hate australians and like other people said she is a puppet in their justice system to prove to everyone else dont do drugs there is is one of the most serreal moments i have seen it comes close to 9/11 i was actually tearfull about this i wasnt for 9/11 I think our australian government should step in and use any force necerrary military if they have to it may sound far fetched but this act of justice if thats what u call it has no acceptions what so ever
From the USA, its all over the news here, who do those PUNK BASTARDS think they are, threaten to blow them off the face of the Earth, we are behind the Aussies 100% and demand re-payment of the Tsunami aid money(1 Billion) I believe, To Hell with them you can bet President Bush would be with you on Military action! We are with you all the way! Atlanta, Georgia
Schapelle has her whole life ahead of her, it is so unfair to lock her away for the next 20 years. I dont understand how that is justice. The bali bomber received 2 years jail for killing 202 people and schapelle get 20 years for a crime she didn't commit..
I'm a 20 year old aussie who will NEVER travel to bali because of the way they are treating this beautiful aussie Woman.. Hang in there Schapelle.
Kind thoughts always for you and your family
Leanne
I watched the verdict live on T.V, my heart broke, for Shapelle, her family and friends, I have no doubt that she is innocent,if it takes protesting in the streets,I'll be there. She must come home, and she must be freed.
I, as a young American woman, am outraged by the decision of the Indonesian government in Schapelle Corby's case. Although I truly believe she is innocent, my main problem is that this poor young woman has to serve such a harsh sentence in a foreign country that she made the mistake of wanting to visit. If nothing else can be done to give Schapelle her freedom back, the Indonesian government should at least allow her to serve her time in her own country of Australia. She was a tourist, and she has no history with Indonesia other than being a tourist. She has done nothing to directly endanger or harm the Indonesian people; therefore, she should not have to lose 20 years of her life in one of their prisons. I am going to keep Schapelle in my thoughts, and I am going to write to whomever I can and beg them to bring Schapelle back home.
I've just heard about the sentence for Ms. Corby - that is INSANE. A bomber gets 30 months for killing hundreds of people and Indonesia sentences a young woman to 20 years on barely any evidence of wrong-doing? I pray Ms. Corby is freed soon.
