We are frequent travellers to Asia, having spent many holidays in Bali and Indonesia. My husband and I have decided not to visit Bali again for the treatment that you have recieved.

This could have happened to you or I or any other Australian who has ever travelled. I can't comprehend the blatant injustice. Imagine if this was your own son or daughter. As an Australian, Schapelle is a daugter of this country and therfore you must act as though she is your own. Schapelle must be brought back home and as soon as possible.

As for the effect this will have on innocent Indonesians - I say "who cares". Judge Sirait clearly demonstrated what Indonesia thinks of innocent Australians. Lets show a simple "cause and effect" relationship here. It seems to be the only way to communicate with a corrupt country.
I plead the Australian Government to get Schapelle out of there now. To ask us not to pass judgement on the Indonesian legal system is equivalent to telling us "we don't care about Schapelle, and we really wouldn't care if it was you either". We Aussies have been known to take the law into our own hands before, and I wouldn't mind betting that we could do it again. For safety's sake, get her out of there now.

They say she had to prove somehow who put the stuff in her packages, when even a fool knows she wasn’t even handling her own baggage at the damn airports, where anyone there could have put the stuff in her baggage.

Video camera of the internal workings of the baggage personnel should be inspected, and if it is not found or lost; that is the same as admitting guilt. I live in Democratic Canada. Flying is getting scary. Anyone could put something in our bag including airport workers. In this case all governments of Deomcratic countries should take off the white gloves, cut the public relations b.s. and starting telling THIS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT in no uncertain terms to return this girl home OR ELSE.
I think it is absolutely disgusting that an innocent young Australian has been convicted and jailed for a crime she did not commit. There is simply just not enough evidence to clarify whether the allegations were true or not.
It is totally insane to give 2 1/2 years conviction to a person who has taken so many lives and 20 years conviction for drug traficking. And even then, it has not been proved that Schapelle is guilty as the Indonesian legal officers did not even bother about looking deeper into the case. It is very clear that their system is corrupted. Them not even trying to make an effort in investigating deeper into the affair is very ungrateful of them considering that the Australian people were the first ones to help them after the tsunami and the Bali bombing.

I am truly amazed with the Indonesian Gov that an Australian Woman supposedly bought drugs into their country and will serve 20 yrs prison time but one of their own bombs and kills not only their own people but Australians and many others will only serve 2 yrs. My 11 yr old son has been watching this story and said to me "Mum why don't they get Schapelle to take a lie detector test and the other people involved".
