i think it is absolutely ridiculous that schapelle has got 20yrs weather she is guilty or not! especially considering that the bali bomber only recieved 2& a half years and he killed about 88 people and showed not one ounce of remorse when tried in the same indonesian court!!!. i have no idea what goes on in their minds but there has got to be something wrong with them if they consider drug smuggling worse than mass murder! fair enough they don't take this lightly in indonesia and they want to make sure they make an example that it's not acceptable but look at the example that they have made from the bali bomber i'm not surprised at all that terrorism has struck indonesia again.

As an American I am horrified that she was not given the help needed to prove her innocence ~ and that she was not innocent until proven guilty. She could not prove that someone else planted the drugs ~ but they could not prove that SHE had smuggled them. There was so much reasonable doubt and yet she was found guilty. I hope that Australia and its people do not rest until Schapelle is brought home and vindicated. Your government has a chance to prove that each and every one of you are valuable to them. I know it is a tightrope ~ but, I also know that you should not just accept that a young Aussie is going to be captive in a Bali jail amidst filth and squallor for 20 years of her life. What a system? Prove your innocence! Basically an impossibility given the potential resources of a lone Australian citizen sitting in a hell-hole of a gaol.Does she have powers of arrest? Does she have any coercive powers? No, that's what the police and officials are for. With all the resources at their disposal, the might of the Indonesian state. No, they bungle that up too with their ignorance and backwards mentality. It's little wander that the three presiding "judges" have never aquitted anyone. A system will never work if it's about proving ones innocence; it's proving ones guilt.
