The verdict is truly disgusting. I cannot believe the injustice. Schapelle NEEDS to be brought home. This is a truly unfair sentence that will destroy her life if carried out.
John Howard is spineless. As someone else has said, I'd love to see him ask us to "accept" the sentence if if was his daughter, or anyone else he loved for that matter.

Whilst I don't agree with punishing the general Balinese public for this injustice, I must say I will not be visiting Bali in this life time! It is quite obvious that the Balinese g'ment has no regard for Australian life, by the injust sentence given to that bomber!! How can any country possibly find any person guilty of a crime without all evidence produced! To me a country that can do this certainly has their morales around the wrong way. 20 years for 4.1kg and only 10 years for murder. What a JOKE!!! An appeal is now going ahead, and as the media has reported over the past couple of days the error was made by the judge while he was handing down the sentence to Schapelle. He made statements in his address that do not corresponde to the Indonesian Constitutional Laws. Has he done this on purpose because he beleives that Schapelle is not guilty but under Inonesian law had to find her guilty. The possbility is there. Lets hope that John Howard will now get off his lazy arse and actullay do something instead of burying in head in the sand. John Howard forget your Industrial shake up and wake up to Schapelle. What's more important at the moment.
This is an injustice... Schapelle is INNOCENT. Let her come home to her friends and family. Unfortunately, if you have visited Bali you know it is all about money and corrupt members of the police force. During the trial the judge treated Schapelle with contempt by not even listening to her plea of innocent. I say boycott Bali.... I know I will never be returning

When an Indonesian Judge 'states' that if he chooses to equit Schapelle he will be accused of taking a bribe and then in his next breath brags that he has never ever equitted anyone for drug smuggling. It has to raise serious concerns and issues about the legal system and the way it is enforced in Indonesia. How can that be called "justice"? I feel Schapelle is not guilty of drug smuggling and is the innocent victim of a deal gone terribly sour in Australia. That could have been anyone of us and I will never ever consider going to Indonesia. It is TOO RISKY!!!

I know what Miss Corby is going through, I had a problem in Thailand, nothing to do with drugs, it was a simple dispute over $1200 which ended up costing me $30,000 3 days in Jail and being unable to leave Thailand for 4 years, until the court case finished in which I was sentenced to 6 years jail, it was straight out extortions, I managed to get out from Thailand while on appeal.
I complained to Peter Cantwell Vice Consul of the Australian Embassy in Bangkok about not getting my rights and asked him to lodge a complaint to the Thai government and he just said it would be a waste of time there are hundreds of Australians in jail waiting for their Trial, the story I have to tell is to long to explain here.
The point being is, its not just Indonesia’s corrupt system but also Thailand.
Don’t expect any help from the Australian Government for you to get your rights as they don’t want to make waves.

We belive she is innocent. We know that the Aussie Govt can not interferr with another law system, but surely some reward can be offered to get info on who did this to her, so it can be presented at any appeal.
Relative to other sentences for more serious crimes committed in Indonesia, the verdict handed down to Shapelle is excessive and unjust considering gulit has not been proven beyond doubt. She should therefore be brought home first for a fair trial.
Australian's should unite against Bali for this travesty, we should ban all tourism and aid to Bali and Indonesia and John Howard needs to accept it that Australian's will not stand for this
Here in New Zealand, Antonie Ronnie Dixon was jailed for twenty years without parole. He shot someone and cut off the hands of two women with a Samurai sword. Dixon was called a "cold-blooded and utterly callous" killer by Justice Judith Potter passing sentence in the High Court at Auckland.
This sentence for Dixon was appropriate. Given the circumstances not many in NZ would have protested if he got thirty years. In this light I am utterly incensed with the sentence handed down to Schapelle. She is nowhere near in the league of Dixon even if she was guilty.
You know in your spirit when someone is telling the truth. Schapelle is so obviously innocent, it is in her tears, her appeal and her humility.
I for one will never ever set foot in Indonesia again until the Indonesians begin to demonstrate that they are human.
Lets all of us keep this alive until she is freed and justice is done.
As a final note, could not the government offer amnesty of some kind for information leading to whoever planted the drugs in her bag?

After the Bali Bombings I vowed, as a keen traveller I will never ever go and spend one red cent in Bali. This just takes the cake, I VOTE BOYCOTT BALI! I strongly believe that there is not enough evidence to convict her or anyone else. So many people had access to her backage after she haned it over. How come OUR Australian Custom's FIND IT? What does that say about our system? I believe Schapelle Corby is innocent and until someone can prove to me differently beyond a reasonable doubt - there is so much that is not reasonalbe about the whole system.

I am sure we have not been told all the facts in this case but at the same time there is enough doubt in all our minds to be certain that this was an unjust sentence given the severity of the alleged crime.

I believe that Schapelle Corby is innocent. Why doesn't the Australian government Stand Up for us Aussies we need to be looked after when we go overseas on holiday. Never to come home because of Indonesian government who's legal system stinks they like the publicity they don't care about the person.
